New Xbox One Ad Says XBL Is "The Gaming Network That Won't Let You Down"

Microsoft released a silly new Xbox One ad today in which former NFL star Marshawn Lynch is an assistant of sorts, though he doesn't seem like a very good one.

More notable from this commercial (via DualShockers) is the claim that Xbox Live is "the network that won't let you down." This appears to be a dig at Sony's PlayStation Network. A third-party report earlier this year stated that Xbox Live is faster and more reliable than the PlayStation Network.

NFL on Xbox: Assistant Marshawn Lynch

The PS4 outsold the Xbox One in the United States in November, according to the NPD Group. This broke Microsoft's win streak that started in the summer.

Both the PS4 and Xbox One are currently marked down to $250 as part of limited-time price cuts.

Around the Network

I don't know about all that but it's the only one I've used out of the three that doesn't have scheduled maintenance. To me, that's all you need to win the argument.

Well, yea. is there any other network that actually come close?

Praise the One.

If Steam is ever down, I've never noticed it.

Ooooh, MS should keep up these ads because apparently they trigger certain people.

Yes! They should! I love their bitchy tactics lately XD

But I also liked Sony's "Most powerful console" ad.

Pocky Lover Boy!

XBOX WON

It's been a bumper year for Xbox One, and this winning streak continued this month as the console scored a stunning 50% victory over Sony's ailing PS4.

For the four week tracking of November, we can reveal that Xbox Live was only down for two hours, wheras Sony's PS4 stumbled once again to a total of 3 hours downtime. This incredible victory is Xbox One's sixth in a row, and some are calling Sony to drop out of the console market completely following another devastating loss.

Easier to keep a network stable when you have half the usercount ;)

I'd hope so. The way they tied their local multiplayer in with the xbox service. If their network does down - so does local multiplayer.

It is also a better ad than their other one. That one was highly disingenuous and petty.

edit: (assuming they didn't fix that with the xbox one S).

The only game on Xbox One that required XBL login and internet connection for me was Call Of Duty Black Ops 3. And I've played a lot of local multiplayer games that doesn't require XBL. So this is not true.

It is the best gaming network out there, so why not advertise it that way?

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
