Really if you think about, adding "Switch-type" funcitonality to most any tablet would be fairly cheap. Snap on controllers and either a "dummy" dock for TV output or something wireless like Google Chromecast would be easy enough. You could use any type of Bluetooth controller when playing on the TV.
If Switch has some measure of success I think tablet companies like Google and Samsung (and gulp maybe Apple) will start copying it. Tablet makers I get the sense are looking for something new anyway I think.
Why this is significant is I think it could change the perception of people regarding what a tablet is. Right now it can do like 10 different things, but most people still don't hook up their tablet to their TV or think of it as a console. I think this might change, and if that changes, perhaps the console business starts to change.
Having a huge giant box console may become more and more something reserved more specifically for hardcore gamers and more casual/fringe elements of the audience (ie: the guy who just has an PS4 to play FIFA when his buddies come over) may start saying "you know what? my tablet already plays a lot of the games I like ... and it's a lot more convienant too, not gonna bother with a console".
Yes the graphics in modern tablets are still behind, but they're also at the same time starting to get pretty darn good. In a year or so we should have mobile chips that can approximate a PS4, which is a level of visual realism that I think is good enough for a lot of people.
