I think what would happen is you'd lose a chunk of people who just want a console to play a few games but aren't insanely crazy about playing all the time.

Hardcore gamers and people who post on message boards and what not probably will always need a physical console, but I think you could begin to see a lot of people just using their tablet as their home console.

Plus tablet makers are kinda scrambling for something new, those jumbo sized tablets from what I can tell haven't really taken off.

Could be bad for dedicated console sales. Like I have a buddy for example who has a PS4, but plays it like maybe 4-5 times a year. If this option was available via tablet I doubt he would've bought a dedicated console at all.
