In a way it could be a bad thing, because we are already seeing what appears to be some decline in consoles.
I think what would happen is you'd lose a chunk of people who just want a console to play a few games but aren't insanely crazy about playing all the time.
Hardcore gamers and people who post on message boards and what not probably will always need a physical console, but I think you could begin to see a lot of people just using their tablet as their home console.
Plus tablet makers are kinda scrambling for something new, those jumbo sized tablets from what I can tell haven't really taken off.
