Before anyone is wondering why I'm posting here instead of Ryng, it is because he has sadly decided to leave vgchartz, and has decided to give me control over this thread. Hopefully I can do as well as he did maintaining this thread, and he'll be missed by many on this site. 

Now this is all i have to say before I finally set things up. This thread is going to mix my old use of posting a poll of the winner (I will now include the 3DS and Wii U every month, so there won't be arguing over that :)), and Ryng's standard prediction thread, in which I lay out all all possibly impacts to HW sales, as well as important software releases and hardware numbers from the past. I also want to note that I'm still new to this, so if there is anything I should improve, please PM me or reply to this thread, and I'll be more than happy to consider them. Anyway, lets begin.

December is tracked for 5 weeks

Hardware Impacts:

-XB1 Temporary Price drop (one day deal $229 and $249 till December 24th)

-PS4 Temporary Price drop ($249 December 11-24th)

 

Last month:

Concrete numbers unavailable, rumours have XB1 at 1 million and PS4 at 1.1 million.


 

Last year:

[XB1] ≈1,400,000

[WiU]  ≈450,000

 

 




Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I won't predict numbers, but I see the Xbox taking the month, as MS has retailers offering a $30 gift card on top of the $50 off deal, plus a free game with Xbox one offer after Christmas week. It wouldn't surprise me too much either way, however, and I expect January sales to tank, so, yay :)

Ps4 only beat xbox one by less than 100k last month with the pro. That isn't very impressive to be honest. I think xbox one will win North America.
