Forums - Nintendo - New The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild screenshots from now until launch

Saw this, so it's safe to say it's not launching late 2017?

Around May is my guess

How long did Smash Bros U do its "pic of day/week" thing for?

I don't remember, but looking online, it was around 2 years?

Sort of in a different situation, but I guess that was a long time

Hopefully, because that screenshot is not looking good. :s Maybe it's the camera angle, but it looks washed out.

playing with color balance is also a way developers can convey a sense of cold so if this is a cooler region, that coulf factor in.  Also, it's a screenshot at twilight.

The reason I go to the Wii U assumption is the draw distance of detail seems identical, texture resolution seems identical, and image quality seems identical.

Yep, I agree. There are many indicators that this is the Wii U version. It's hard to judge based on the off screen footage of the Switch version, but it looked better (and much more fluid) to my eyes.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

When did they start, around E3 2013 when the game was first shown?

Is it weird I get more a Ghibli feel from this than I do Ni No Kuni 2?

Yes.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Yes.

BotW reminds me of this and the older art reminds me of 80s Zelda artwork with the softer lines and BotW has a lot of Original Zelda art tribute in the game so it's a big circle for me. I see more Level 5 in No No Kuni 2.

Started June 2013 (right after E3) and ended December 2014 (more then a month after launch), the thing is though Smash has a lot more variety to be able to do that, it doesn't really matter if they spoil Smash Bros because it's a fighting game, where Breath of the Wild is an adventure game and people don't want to be spoiled (especially after Skyward Sword).

And we don't know yet if they will be doing a pic of the day yet, wording is weird. It could be 1 new pic per week for all we know.

They've already shown enough of the game to do a "pic of the week" for the next year without spoiling anything new.
