Why is this thread still open and being discussed?
Are there really those who think the OP ever had any merit? This is about as ludicrous as Nintendo going out of business.

I think that this rumor had some merit back before the Game Awards trailer came out which clearly showed it still coming for Wii U. That said, you're right, at this point I think that we can safely say case closed on this one.
I think that this thread should definitely be a feel-good thread for Wii U owners. I mean, look at how much worse things could have been if BotW didn't come to the Wii U.
It honestly wouldn't suprise me, but this clearly isn't happening lol. The way that Nintendo have been handeling things as of late would make me believe this.
I make videos that are sometimes funny I think?
Amazon has it for preorder on 3/31/17 release STILL.

BotW is primarily a Switch game with only a limited release on Wii U. Wii U ports screw Wii U owners by making our purchase worthless. I bought the system expecting Wii U games to not be ported to other platforms for at least a decade, as it happened with all other Nintendo systems. No system had all their big titles ported to another system so soon after those games were released. We are talking about games released only a year or two ago. There are a lot of PS3 and 360 games not ported to other platforms, and most Gamecube games were not ported to Wii. Not only that, but the Wii U ports have new content that you can only get by buying the game again, screwing those who bought the game on Wii U. I personally believe the Wii U ports are an unprecedented shafting of customers and Nintendo should be boycotted as a result. |
I don't think that showing two games in the Nintendo Switch trailer (Mario Kart and Splatoon) that are supposedly getting ports isn't a lot of Wii U games being ported to the Switch. For all we know, they could actually be sequels. The Mario Kart franchise has been getting a game every 3 years since Mario Kart DS, so it is on track for a brand new Mario Kart game next year.

To be fair, the source in the OP may have been bogus, but that doesn't necessarily mean the cancellation won't happen.
I mean, I could make a fake leak right now that Retro's new game is Diddy Kong Racing, and it could still come true in spite of my leak not being genuine.

There is absolutely zero chance wiiu version is going to be cancelled or even was at the time the OP was created.

I dunno, I personally give it about a 90% chance of getting canned, due to the Wii U already being swept under the rug, the lack of a commitment to March meaning it could come well after Wii U's replacement, the performance issues in the U build, the fact they've already broken multiple promises in regards to BotW, and Nintendo wanting people to forget about Wii U and buy a Switch. I would love to be wrong though.

Except they've demoed and advertised the wiiu version almost exclusively for several months and have it up for preorder on their own site as well as every retailer. It literally has 0% chance of not coming. GC was also dead when TP was released on Wii/GC.

Pretty sure Last Guardian was up for preorder for PS3 too.
And TP came to GC only weeks after the Wii version, it was never shown to be struggling to run well on GC, and GC was not as big of a flop as Wii U.
