Forums - Nintendo - [New Poll] Will you buy multiplatform games on Switch or PS4/XBO/PC?

Will you buy multiplats on Switch or PS4/XBO/PC if you own both systems?

Switch 270 37.04%

PS4/XBO/PC 331 45.40%

Won't own a Switch 109 14.95%

Won't own a PS4/XBO/PC 19 2.61%

Total:729

Games that don't play substancially better on PC, like JRPG, I'd get them on the Switch. And a couple of western games too, if they are worth it.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Games that I prefer to use with a keyboard and mouse like shooters i'll always get on PC as well as most multiplayer games, and with the Switch i'd likely get everything else if it's available on the platform and it performs well

Keyboard and mouse is also a really good point. If I grew up with that control scheme, I don't think portability would be worth the sacrifice of control to me either.

Yeah, for games in-general the control setup is important, and even beyond your typical keyboard and mouse and dualshocks, things such as motion controls and a touchscreen introduce new and sometimes better ways to play too, although it depends on if you want to sacrafice a more traditional setup for a 'revolutionary' one.

But back to the point, the Switch's control seem to look fine, though of course i'd have to give them a try myself. But games for me better-suited for a keyboard and mouse will be played on PC regardless of the Switch's portability

PC and PS4. Switch does not interest me a whole lot for multiplatform games, I'm in it for the exclusive games. Hypothetically if there is a game like Danganronpa 4 which is on both PS4/PC and Switch I might consider it for the Switch since it's more of a game I would like to play on the go.

Sure. As long as 100% identical. In graphics and features. I couldn't even buy Shovel Knight, on Wii U. Because crap was locked to Amiibo.

I really don't like the button layout, but nothing a third party controller won't solve.

So only indies then? I don't think you'll see anything but that with "100% identical graphics." Switch versions will likely lie very comfortably at the bottom of the graphics spectrum.

Except that a lot of people go way beyond liking and will skew polls for it. It also seems that Nintendo fans are less likely to own other means of gaming than the other way around.

If you own multiple systems, I don't see why there would be any reason to believe that you would actively buy a version you like less. You've already payed money for the other platform. There's little room for skewing there. If you own a PS4 and a Switch, you've payed money to play games on your PS4. I don't understand how someone can then say that they'd somehow go "beyond," and skew the polling infavor of Nintendo when they own both platforms.

I accounted for that in the new poll. If someone only owns a Switch, there's an option for that. There are exactly 8 so far, so that scenario seems like it will be the minority.

Your faith in humanity is too good for this world. You do know that on the internet you can click things that are not accurately reflected in real life do you?

Maybe my faith really is too strong lol I don't see any reason why a significant amount of people would lie on a poll about something like this.

I'll buy most of them on the Switch since my only other platform is PC as long as they aren't massively flawed, I want to prove Third Party developers that Nintendo fans play their games IF they are good.

This is just me, but I wouldn't buy the Switch version of games unless you really want it there. Your individual purchasing habits won't move the needle either way if everyone else isn't buying the Switch because they genuinely prefer it. You have nothing to prove to third party devs - Nintendo does.

Well I've always been the kind of person that prefers to play on Handhelds so It's not a problem for me :v

The same reason they take part in every other Nintendo circle jerk in this forum.
