PS3 to win the week by 100k over XBox 360. Sony has won Europe by well over 60k (when adjusted), Americas will be 20k win to PS3 over XBox 360. The sales of GT 5 P will be adjusted to 500k of when all sales data is in and is adjusted. Japan will see PS3 get to 20k and XBox 360 will limp to around 2000 for the week.

The DS and Wii outsell everyone again but yeah they are much cheaper than the two HD gaming consoles. PSP struggles but holds off XBox 360. Wii only just edges out PS3.

Weekly consoles sale predictions:

DS around 380k Wii around 300k PS3 around 270k PSP around 220k XBox 360 170k

Software sales PS3 huge boost in numbers: Thank you GT 5 Prologue launch in Others. Wii and DS both lead the way in software sales as usual.

Seems to make sense to me.

sony execs should be quite happy with the sales. they should be pushing for more advertising i do believe and maybe the numbers could be up a bit more. they also need to advertise games to increase their software sales. the 360 ad with the jump in thing at the end makes people think if they want that game they have to get it on 360(by which i mean mainstream people not us people who go on forums prob small percent of buyers).

 Why waste money on advertising? Microsoft who put all their eggs into the US market and neglect the European market. Japanese market is a hard market to crak for both PS3 and XBox 360. Selling over 2 million PS3 consoles in Japan in 16 months and outselling the XBox 360 by a  sales rate of 10 times without any Japanese games has been a success in Japan for PS3.

 The launch of FF XIII and FF XIII and other JRPG titles on the PS3 will see a huge leap in PS3 console numbers in Japan.

I agree that Sony needs better/more advertising, but I don't agree that the mainstream audience is under-informed.

Maybe in grandma was buying little jimmy a gaming console, but most gamers know what's going on.

Why would PS3 sales in Japan increase to 20k? And why will the PS3 beat the 360 by 20k in NA?

I doubt sales will increase in Japan. Especially considering there no special releases in the previous week.
