Though saying it "only" needs those two titles isn't true, I mean if Nintendo literally ONLY released Animal Crossing and Pokemon the Switch would flop worse than the WiiU. But I don't think that's what you meant exactly.

Okay maybe the wording is a bit weird but I'm pointing at two key franchises that skipped the Wii U and will push the Switch like crazy.

It's basically undoomed already.

If you want me to buy a Switch, you'll need to bring other games, Pokemon and Animal Crossing. I still don't know why people buy these.

Animal Crossing is SIIIIIIIICK.

But yeah I'm a little tired of Pokemon, I mean I love them but they're quite similair and... for some reason I just never get round to playing the latest one, and by the time I'm ready a new one is coming out... and then the cycle repeats and I just never play them.

Perhaps AC alone for Japan, but... the Switch is gonna need a lot more than that to be successful. It needs the games.

Doesn't even need AC in my opinion.. just with Pokemon, it can do really well

But Pokemon + Mario + Mario Kart + AC and Smash is definitely a good list

It's obviously going to have all of these so I'm not even sure why this is a topic.

Animal Crossing isn't even one of the top 5 selling 3DS games by the way. Mario Kart, Pokemon X/Y, Super Mario 3D Land, Pokemon Omega/Ruby, and New Super Mario Bros. 2 all outsold it.

Nintendo PORTABLES simply outsell their consoles, has been this way for 20+ years now. 

I think Splatoon is going to be more important to the Switch than people think, I think that is the killer app in Japan.

animal crossing

splatoon 2 (yes japan i am looking at you)

ssb 5

mk 9

3d mario and 2d mario (mario is not enough proven by wii u)

yokai watch (again japan)

monster hunter (new engine!)

zelda

...10 must have games... not sure how they will spread it out but should be within 2 years except for pokemon 8th gen...
