Exactly. This artstyle on a more powerful system would look even better. With better contrast, textures and effects it would basically be like an artwork come alive.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I don't mind either way
As long as it's Zelda and it's fun, that is what I really care about
Visuals are important, but it can still look amazing without being realistic, like the direction BotW is aiming for

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]
BotW has the perfect art style in my opinion. The cell shaded visuals will age much better and produces one hell of a spectacle on the WiiU. It is the perfect blend of realistic and animated presentation in my eyes.
It would be great if this Zelda game was made from the ground up with the Switch in mind, since I assume it started being developed for the Wii U then got switched to working on Switch. Developing for two gens holds most games back, in my opinion.
On topic, i do think cel shaded works best for the series, there's no need to go more "realistic" than this but I guess it couldn't hurt to try again with a tech demo like the one we saw for the Wii U.
It is kinda funny that Zelda constantly gets cell shaded but the main line Mario games don't.
Even for the 2D Marios they use the NSMB more "realistic" style rather than going a more cartoony/sprite style.

I've seen a lot of people on the web complain that they never mix things up with Zelda, but I think they've definitely taken some serious risks with Zelda's art direction, especially for a company that relies so heavily on brand recognition... I think it would be really refreshing if they took similar risks with Mario... |
I agree with this, one of the defining features of the series is how almost every game looks different. Personally I'd love to see a modern Zelda game with an art style similar to OOT/MM in the future (since those are my favs).
No matter what the art style I want a great title.

Same, fuck realistic looks, they are boring. (Ok, not always, but still :P)
I dont understand. Did zelda ever have "realistic" artstyle?
