Two years ago: PS3 DOMINATIONZ IN 2007
One year ago: PS3 DOMINATIONZ IN 2008
Two months ago: PS3 DOMINATIONZ ABOUT TO BEGIN
Now: 2008 AND 2009 WILL AVERAGE OUT TO DA PS3 DOMINATIONZ
Six months from now: 2009 WILL BE DA DOMINATIONZ
2009: AT LEAST IT'S OUTSELLING DA XBOTS MOST WEEKS, DA WII'S IN DA DIFFERENT MARKET

because those were said by everyone of course. ps3 has been picking up a lot in 2008 and has beat 360 every week (im pretty sure, might have been a few it didnt but overall ps3 is clearly winning). 360 has picked up below market average, while ps3 is way above year over year. relative to wii? not a chance, but to 360? extremely likely at this point.

Incorrect here both PS3 and XBox 360 have improved upon console sales and software sales on this time last year. PS3 went from abysmal console sales due to "$600 US PS3" a year ago to much improved console sales "$400 US PS3" that are edging out the XBox 360 in console sales.

Big difference a $100 reduction in price will do for console sales.

Fixed.

Launch 60GB $600, 20GB $500.

80GB Replaces 60GB $500, 40GB Replaces 20GB $400.

I only see a $100 price drop on the system here.

We can add up too and just say the 360 recieved a $131 price drop but that wouldn't be very fair now would it considering the Pro dropped by $50 and not $131, same goes for the other models as well.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

This conversation has been had and decided on these forums a couple of times.

The lowest possible entry point of the PS3 has changed twice.

$599 (the brief period in which the 20gb was officially dropped but before the 80gb was brought in).

$499 (80gb brought in)

$399 (40gb brought in)

You may not like it, and I understand that it is a bit of a cheap shot, but the lowest entry price of the PS3 HAS dropped twice and you CANNOT reasonably tell someone they are wrong for claiming that.

As for the 360, it's lowest entry has dropped only once (like a $20 drop).

I think Gamepro considers some of those multiplatform (with the PC) and ignores others like Cry On, Infinite Undiscover, Tales of Vesperia, etc, because in their opinion they're not "major" releases.  They also left off GTAIV's episodic content as well because downloads don't count afterall (well they do but if Gamepro did a real comparison it might not make the PS3 look so great)... You have to take Gamepro's articles with a huge grain of salt since many are laughable at best.

Anyone that would seriously use Gamepro as a way to measure one console against another is pretty desperate to have their beliefs vindicated no matter how questionable the source is.

Is actually anybody taking starcraft's posts seriously? Based on his posts he just uses his time to bash PS3. It seems so ridiculous, when the conclusions you get from reading his posts are:
- PS3 is doomed and 360 has all the good games.

Still, the market is clearly heading the other way.

Lost my faith in VGChartz. Too many stupid and ignorant Americans, even as moderators.

It's a shame, really. "The Boss" should do something radical about this Americanization, but it seems hardly feasible, so my days here are numbered.

By all means, illustrate for me which posts of mine said anything of the sort?

Otherwise, if you have an issue with something I've said, argue the point.  Don't just resort to immature name-calling and labelling.

Tekken 6 is a system seller too

I like technology when its moving forward..

PSN: methys

If we are looking in 2009, then the next Insomniac game (another Ratchet?) and another ND game need to be considered, as do the Getaway, Afrika and Eight Days, which will eventually come out

The list is starting to look less and less credible.

PS3:

WKS

360:

Infinite Undiscovery

Tales

Cry On

Halo 4/Perfect Dark 2 (possibly both will hit, but I think only one (PD2))

BK3 and NJ2 as system sellers (especially compared to God of War).

You add in only one confirmed PS3 game, then add in two unannounced games for the 360 list...

NJ2 and Banjo Kazooie 3 system sellers?

This site appears to have no accurate numbers for Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox. One poster does mention though that NPD have it at 713k at January 2007.

In order to be a significant system seller I would assume a title would need to have, at the very least, over a million in sales.

Banjo Kazooie sold 3.65 million on the N64 10 years ago. Back when Rare were at the top of their game. The title was also hugely hyped and heavily marketed by Nintendo at the time. It also recieved a huge boost in attention when Nintendo actually included the character 'Banjo' in another huge Nintendo title, Diddy Kong Racing.

So far very few people, even 360 owners, know anything about BK3. It's rarely disccused, mentioned, or even added to 360 fans lists on other sites I visit. Many 360 owners have never even owned a N64 or played the previous versions. The N64 had millions of fans who loved platformers. Does the 360?

Also, with other platformers like SMG and Ratchet and Clank available on the other systems will this really sell consoles?

I'm doubtful.

Well leo-j for one said he wants BK3:)

But of course every big game like BK3 has it's cult fans.  It's like someone else pointed out, if people will buy a PS3 for God of War3, they'll buy a 360 for NG2.  It is also one of the few 360 games that has a following in Japan.

My post wasn't intended to list every game for both platforms that should be on the gamepro list, clearly I would know more about the 360's lin-up.

In any case, it is clear from my posts and others that the gamepro list is severely lacking in credibility.
