That is strange - it has Android TV so you should be easily able to install apps on the TV that are able to decode anything you want (if the hardware chips are there and detected).

Samsung and LG support is basically unmatched though in terms of files, containers and codecs.

will have to look at it, didn't tried looking for apps for it.

2x? When did the Pro cost $599? Or even $499 with BF deals? You're getting over 2x the power for $100 more than the Slim. Damon good deal if you ask me.

   

That argument only holds water if one does not already have a PS4.

If one already has a PS4, then it is another $400 for 2x the power. Or $400 minus whatever trade in you get, which I"m guessing is no more than $100. So one is paying $300 for 2x the power as you guys say. Which could be very well what one paid for their PS4 in the first place. So couble the price for double the power.

Next year we will get UHD Blu Ray playback on PS4 pro anyways me thinks. Either they they bring out a PS4 Pro with an UHD Blu Ray player to compete with Scorpio or they just make a firmware update for all PS4 Pros to play UHD Blu Rays.

Uh, why? It's still an advantage the Xbone S has over the PS4. Why would any company not advertise an advantage?

Did I miss something, or were there loads of threads around here about how UHD was the next big thing and Pro was doooooooooooooooomed for not having it? All I remember is it was a big deal to one dude, and some others (myself included) thought it was silly not to have it in a machine revealed around 4k. OP reads like everyone thought no UHD drive would kill the console, lol.

Also, damn. $40 UHD movies? Not in 'murica. $25 or bust can get you lots of great ones.
