I kind of doubt that's even possible. That sales ration was horrid by even indie standards.

4:1's not that bad. I think it will be higher for a main FF game though, Type-0 was relatively niche. |
And a Remaster at that. They should've learned from Rare Replay. The Xbox isn't exactly remaster friendly, unless your name is Skyrim...

Id would also be good for more japanse games to make their way to the xbox, a lot of ps4 exclusives are exclusive because the developers just don't feel like they would make a profit on microsofts system, like NioH, Persona 5 etc, even with games like Nier: Automata and Final Fantasy coming to the xbox, more is always good, so I am happy you are one of the buyers. I don't have an xbox myself, but if I did, I would have also gone for that version, it runs like crap on the PS4 too (I am playing it right now) so I don't think the 900p or 1080p makes much difference concidering the blurry experience with pop ins I am having right now, the only people that deffenitely should go PS4 are the people with a pro, since its supposed to be better on that system, which is horrible because its never been like that on consoles that people who pay a premium price get to play the game normal lol |
NiOh and Nier perhaps, but definitely not Persona 5.
Something devs seem to not understand is that the Xbox fandom doesn't hate Japanese media the way they think. They like games from Japan, but don't like games with stuff which only Japanese players will find funny. It's the reason I don't fear for FFXV's future on the console. It doesn't feel Japanese. Even though it's rare though, we apparently don't mind chanbara games.
It'd be the weird henshin and Tokyo stuff you have to avoid.

Hopefully sending my PSVita to Sony in Japan with a stink bomb strapped to it...

Some people choose to get offended at others decision making if it doesnt mirror their own. The Xbox One is getting all applicable final fantasy games outside of the X remasters. Exclusivity the way games are selling this year as of late is completely justified. Microsoft is partially responsible for low sales for certain games that could've sold better if they launc hed on both platforms day one. |
Again, standard rule on Xbox One... Only AAA games. If your media isn't top of the line, don't bother.
Hence why we should be getting stuff like Final Fantasy, Monster Hunter and Tekken/Tales-if-they-become-great-again, but not the rest of the otaku pandering content. Those three should be more than enough.

playstation is where I first started playing final fantasy games. If I were to switch platforms for the final fantasy franchise, my collection would look..weird. so i'm getting it for my ps4pro.

You sound like you can skip the graphical prowess the game offers and save it for Scorpio, the truth is this game is not a book, you're not just gonna play it "for da story". You're not gonna ignore the scenery on your 1st time. You will explore, sink yourself in the game for hours, do so many shit that you'll have seen it all by the time the supa dupa Scorpio version(if it is gonna exist) comes out.

Nintendo owned our beloved franchise before...

yes but, playstation introduced me to final fantasy with ff7, and it has been holy matrimony ever since. nintendo did not do that for me.

Nintendo never owned Final Fantasy. They just publish the game for squaresoft.
| S.T.A.G.E. said: As the title says, I am only playing the first time for story. The second time will be later on in 2017 when the Scorpio drops. True 4k with HDR is the version i'll play with more exploration and time to take in the scenery. The first go-round will definitely be more story driven, than exploration based. I should have the pro next year, but i'll use that for exclusives, whilst everything else goes on my Xbox Scorpio. Multiplats are a must.
What do you think? |
i'm not 100% sure we are going to see FFXV taking advantage of scorpion... i mean, there is a good chance that FFXV will not have a patch for Scorpion.
...just saying

I dont understand how anyone can gather that when Square took out the time to optimize the game for two Sony platforms on one disc. This is Square that we're talking about and not someone else who doesnt have the time and resources to do it. The way games are dealt with today, the game will more than likely be patched. Its understandable for past games to have missed the boat for a patch even with the pro, but we all know how Microsoft is and how Microsoft loves to shadow Sony. Final Fantasy is the franchise that they will want to boast about having the superior version of.

just like Sony shadowed Microsoft for 4 years with the ps4 and now they shadowed them 1 year early with Pro? you seem to not understand how things work, we don't know the price of Scorpio yet, if it's more than $500 then it will be a harder flop than the wii u, nobody is going back to patch games for a wii u success like console
