Finally with the library, the Smach lets you play your steam games. So, if that's your thing, great. It's not going to give you anything you can't get on your PC. Assuming you're a PC gamer, which pretty much everyone interested in this is, you're paying 3-400 dollars strictly for portablity. The Switch will have exclusives, and its target audience may not already have a gaming PC/PS4/XBone.

I already repeated that many times. In terms of mass market the switch has nothing the wii u hadnt but (maybe) third party games and portability.

The Nintendo games arnt selling many consoles now a days. IPs like GTA, Elder scrolls, Mass effect, Witcher, Battlefront, Doom, Fifa, Battlefield, Call of Duty, RDR, Warcraft  > Zelda, Mario, Pokemon for mass market.

So there is a system with the same key functions as the switch, but that plays more popular IPs. Easy Winner. Nintendo fans might prefer the switch, but they also prefered the Wii U.

Also the "you can already play on pc" argument is invalid. Mass Market is not going to get 2 dedicated gaming devises. They choose one, wether its a new pc, a new pc handheld, a new ps4, a new xbox one or a switch. And if you just have one gaming device, the smach is without any doubt the overall cheaper system with more popular aaa games.

The Nintendo fans will still get the switch like they got the wii u (most likely even as a 2ndary device). But mass market will pass.

Better marketing and branding might be so only thing that can keep the switch alive at this time.

Tegra X1 win.

x1 iks less powerfull, x2 is similar

Tegra X1 noticeable wins, X2 can achieve much higher clocks than X1 and because that can easily outperform X1.

I already wrote several times, but you just keep confirming my claims, your posts have very weak or wrong arguments that don't have any sense.

Totally wrong, Switch is real home console and real handheld in one, Wii U was home console that just has tablet controller, not to mention that market actually thought that was some kind addon for Wii. Everything about Switch seems much more positive compared to Wii U.

Again wrong, new Pokemon moved more than 100k 3DS consoles (console that is in its 6. year) in just 3 days in just Japan market.

Comparing SMACH with Switch is totaly same like comparing Steam Machine to XB1/PS4, comparing real gaming console to PC console, and we know Steam Machine is dead while XB1/PS4 are selling great. You can bet same will be with SMACH and Switch, SMACH will most likely be less popular than Nvidia Shield, while Switch will sell in tens of millions.

Actually you can play already on PC is great argument, beacus almost any home already has PC on or othe way and people already can play all games that SMACH will be able to offer.

What exatly will keep Switch alive and actualy popular is fact that is home console and hendheld in same time, that means people can play Pokemon, Zelda, Mario, Splatoon, Smash, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing...with one device at home or at go, then we move to very strong launch and 1st year lineup without droughts, then we go to better branding and marketing, then we go to great price of $250, then we go to much modern architecture that is easier to work and develop compared to Wii U. Basicly all the things Wii U didnt had or they were done bad for Wii U.

Whole tread is basically PC vs console, same like Steam Machine vs PS4/XB1 few years ago, only this time comparison is even worse because this SMACH is some kind of niche kickstarter project while behind Steam Machines we had some very strong names like Valve for instance.

The Tegra X1 is about 1,5 - 2 x as powerfull as the Tegra K1 used in the Shield portable. The Shield portable performance is stated in the graphic. So even when you double it, its far from the Smach Z.

Valve is supporting the Smach Z as well.

I know its hard for somebody who love nintendo, but mass market is not interested in those games. Last Zelda game sold 4 Mio in 100Mio installed hw base. Those games hadnt sold the wii u and wont sell the switch. Games like Mass Effect, Witcher, GTA, Fifa, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Uncharted and so much more a complete other league of games. Real AAA Games with bigger budgets then probl. all games nintendo will release on launch combined. There are hundrets of people working on those games while nintendo teams are about ~50 in general. Times have changed. But im repeating myself.

People are not desperatly waiting to play animal crossing and mario. Just read the comments on the youtube switch trailer. People like the portable idea, they like to play skyrim. Only a very few people are even talking about the shown mario and zelda footage.

The SmachZ does all that ALOT better.

I really don't see what are trying to say here, fact is that X1 is stronger than SMACH (like graph shows), so with X2 difference will be even bigger. Also comparing hardware power of PC and closed gaming console that dosnt make to much sense, games for consoles have incomparible bigger optimisation and actual whole platform (OS, hardware, tools, APIs..) on 1st plays is made to be platform for playing games, for PC device with Windows you cant say that. Smash Z hardware very soon will become outdated and weak for newer PC games, (you already have PC games that requre 6-8GB)

Steam Machine was Valve project, so that has nothing with that some kickstarter project will have Steam. But in any case Steam Machine failed.

Why you igorning sales of Pokemon for instance!? New Pokemon moved more than 100k 3DS consoles (console that is in its 6. year) in just 3 days in just Japan market. Zelda TP come on Wii when Wii was already dead and people migrated to other platforms, not to mention that require Motion Plus addon that need to buy separate in order to play game. Real system sellers come on Wii U when Wii U were already dead and considered for dead platform, and great games can't rely sale platform that is considered for dead and had lotsa problems for beginning (I wrote in last post what will Switch have compared to Wii U and where Wii U failed). Also fact is that AAA multiplatform games doesnt sell Nintendo hardware, Nintendo games and exlusive games selli Nintendo hardware, AAA games sell XB1/PS4 hardware, but Nintendo need more 3rd party games to be more appealing for market, because some people want to play Fifa and Zelda, or Pokemon and NBA for instance. If you really want to talk about sales of games, look at attach rate of Nintendo game on Wii U or 3DS, and compare those to sale of multi platform on sales on PS4 or XB1, MK8 has 60% attach rate, sold 7-8m on instal base of 13m. Bigger budget and bigger development teams doesnt relly matter, Nintendo makes games that are better and more quality games with small budget and team than some AAA games and teams, Zelda BotW budget and team was definitely lower than for some AAA game, and yet Zelda BotW will be one of best games of this gen and it will sell millions of copies.

Actualy people are very exated about new 3D Mario at launch, main Pokemon game on home console, new 3D Zelda BotW (game that easily won last E3 and become on of most hyped game ever)...but offcourse that people are exaited to see Skyrim on Nintendo console and some definitely like idea playing Skyrim on real portable console (not some kicstarter portable PC nobady heard about), and of course that Skyrim on Switch is talked because that was real surprise, we already know about Zelda and Mario, and we assume about Pokemon, but nobady relly expeced to see Skyrim, so that was big suprise.

At end of day, like I wrote:

Some more sources:

Benchmarks:

Google Pixel C (Tegra X1) Offscreen rendering

Car Chase: 1450 Frames (24,5 FPS)

Trex: 4518 Frames (80,7 FPS)

AMD RX-427BB with AMD Radeon™ R7 Graphics Offscreen rendering

Car Chase: 1702 Frames (28,8 FPS)

Trex: 5964 Frames (106,6 FPS)

Your graph is basically faked. The x1 is nowwhere near as powerfull as the Xbox One. Just some Gflops comparisons (yeah i know gflops is not everything).

FP32:

Tegra X1: 365 Gflops

Xbox One: 1350 Gflops

But it CAN play Nintendo games, just not the latest ones.

This product looks like shit. Not in concept, in quality and design. The controller looks like crap and there is no dancing around it. You can say it is customizable but that is just like putting sugar on shit. Also, it runs good games like garbage. That alone is reason not to buy it. Why pay five hundo on a product that cannot play the games I want with dignity? No thank you.

I will be buying Switch day 1 and will probably never speak of this product outside of this thread.

Doenst relly matters, even if this thing is more stronger than Switch (but most likly isnt), that doent mean anuthing, like I wrote:
