Forums - Nintendo - If Zelda:BotW delay is going to happen, Wii U version will be cancelled.

Digital-only would be a win as far as I'm concerned; I expect no version of it for Wii U at all.

I want to see a new trailer with crisp and clean Wii U logo in the end of the video.

Ain't gonna happen, even the E3 trailer this year has no Wii U logo. They've been distancing themselves from Wii U for a while now. I'm betting from the January Switch event onwards they'll simply brand it as a Switch game, and when asked about the Wii U version, they'll quietly reply that it's now a Switch title and that's what they're focussing on at the moment. Later they'll confirm its cancellation, but only when pressed.

Nintendo could not show Switch version for obvious reasons.

So they have a finished version of the game, with a possible userbase of 2-4 million and be like "lol jk"?

They two years in a row acts like that.

I don't see them cancelling the Wii U version. I don't really see a reason to if they're gonna delay it anyways

Of course, but that doesn't mean that they won't release the Wii U version of the game.

Well, Sony showed the PS3 version of The Last Guardian...

Were people able to play the PS3 version of the game at E3 when its release date was 2011? Just wondering.

I remember Nintendo once moved Super Paper Mario from the GameCube to the Wii, but I don't think they showed off any gameplay of the GameCube version. I could be wrong, though.

It's not Nintendo, but wasn't PT released to the public as a teaser demo for a game that was subsequently cancelled? It's not unprecedented for a game that's been shown in a playable state to get canned or change platforms.

Good point. I still don't think that Nintendo will cancel the Wii U version of the game, though.

I certainly hope they don't, but I am very, very worried.

They might lose out on sales if they don't release on WiiU.
