All credibility lost with just one word.

Maybe it is a fact.

But it comes from Emily Rogers claiming that first localisation needs to be done and then afterwards comes testing for 4-6 months, when there is no valid reason why this couldn't be done simultaneously because those two tasks don't interfere with each other and likely aren't even performed by the same people. I don't know, do you have a plausible explanation why this couldn't be done at the same time? Me neither.

No, it comes from their own sources. Emily just reported it first.

That's according to a new report which details the game's current state of development, and which tallies with information provided to Eurogamer by sources close to Nintendo.

Last night, reliable Nintendo tipster Emily Rogers detailed the game's localisation schedule, which will now continue through until the end of 2016. "Four-to-six months of testing will follow" before the game launches.

Eurogamer had separately been told of the same schedule, as Nintendo is committed to launching the game in as close to perfect a state as possible after so long in development.

That's what Eurogamer wrote. If I wanted to put on my tinfoil hat, I could read the first and third paragraph in a way that it was still Emily Rogers who told Eurogamer this and twittered it shortly before / shortly after. But anyway, it doesn't matter where they got this from, even from another source. The explanation is still flawed, no matter what.

There you go, Eurogamer got it from their own sources, not from Emily.

I don't believe it, it's not GameFreak Style to re-release such a game on a new platform, no matter what Nintendo wants them to do...

You mean there is no sense to release main Pokemon game on next Nintendo console that actually is handheld also!? :D

Also Pokemon Company confirms support for Switch few months ago.

Well Eurogamer for now have a 100% accuracy in the rumours they have reported for the Switch. I don't expect them to mess that up any time soon.

I have a feeling that 3DS gamers will feel really, really bad once Nintendo launches the Switch version of this game. Nintendo decisions have led a lot of people to feel like theyve wasted their money these days.

disagree entirely.

Sun/Moon essentially getting ported to the Switch should have no bearing on 3DS owners, and this is coming from a 3DS owner. If Sun/Moon were canceled for the 3DS in favor of being released on the Switch that would be one thing......

the reality is in any facet in life people shouldn't buy things unless they're comfortable with what they're getting at the time. You don't buy a system if there is'nt already a library in place that you feel is worth your money as you have no idea what tomorrow brings.

I to some extent take offense when companies totally abandon products (like Sony with the Vita) but the amount of whining lately is ludicrous. ports don't magically take ANYTHING away. No game is being erased from the 3DS. and like some have already mentioned, the 3DS is no spring chicken. its been out for 5 years and gotten arguably far more focus than the Wii U from Nintendo and decent third party support
