Sun/Moon essentially getting ported to the Switch should have no bearing on 3DS owners, and this is coming from a 3DS owner. If Sun/Moon were canceled for the 3DS in favor of being released on the Switch that would be one thing......
the reality is in any facet in life people shouldn't buy things unless they're comfortable with what they're getting at the time. You don't buy a system if there is'nt already a library in place that you feel is worth your money as you have no idea what tomorrow brings.
I to some extent take offense when companies totally abandon products (like Sony with the Vita) but the amount of whining lately is ludicrous. ports don't magically take ANYTHING away. No game is being erased from the 3DS. and like some have already mentioned, the 3DS is no spring chicken. its been out for 5 years and gotten arguably far more focus than the Wii U from Nintendo and decent third party support
