I don't think it reveals anything of the sort. 65k is not impressive for first week, and there wasn't more because pre-orders weren't more.

I got my pro on launch day. My PS4 i had to wait about 4-5 months. The reviews are correct. It's hardly worth the money for what it gives and it's not a consumer friendly practice. Only reason i got one was because the retailer had to make a temporary trade in campaign that gave a whopping 150€ for my near launch OG ps4. Wouldn't have gotten it otherwise.

i talk about Japan here. The PS4 Pro is worth the money more than the other alternatives this hollyday season, with only 100€ more you get a lot more  performance. Youre dissapointed because you had wrong exceptations and no 4K TV

Eh? Who said i was disappointed? I knew what i was getting. Only got it because i got a huge price cut on it. Otherwise wouldn't have bothered. It doesn't mean i'm unhappy with it. And i couldn't care less about the 4K. I want the better FPS, colors, textures and lighting.

Maybe i should explain the point again. For an existing owner, pro is hardly worth it. For new users, the pro is hardly worth it (though a bit more). But don't expect it to sell like hot cakes. It's not gonna happen, and its good that it doesn't happen because it would bring a potencially bad practice to the market. As an optional model its doing well. And finally this exposes nothing about the media.

And Sony misses the oportunity of using Final Fantasy XV PS4 pro enhancements to sell more systems.

yes defeniatley make people aware of it but they dint give the Pro a Lunar bundle

I'm sorry but what? I can't even give you this link cause you don't even make it in the list! What?!

OT: Yea well, I guess even Sony had lost faith and hopes for Japan with that undershipping. It was either supply America and Black Friday or Japan I guess.

So Sony only shipped 60k on Japan? And people keep saying that only Nintendo underships....

Are you referring to the NES mini?

In Japan the market is smaller when it comes to home console so Sony may have underestimated their home turf.  But we all knew the NES Mini would be huge in America with such a bigger market and at such a cheap price how can you go wrong, especially near the holiday season.

OT:  Seems like Japan may have a bigger market for home consoles than Sony thought.  That is fairly low still, I would expect like at least 200K units of Pro in Japan to have been shipped.

All the review I've read and watched was that the PS4 Pro is worth the $400 for what it gives.  As an upgrade for existing PS4 owners is a different beast.

Does it ?

'Cause it's definitely not the case at my EBgames. Went there yesterday and a guy asked about the PS4Pro and the girl at the counter said that it wasn't worth it if you didn't have a 4k TV, which he obviously didn't have. 3 PS4Pro box standing behind her too, without probably counting the backstore too.

A casual consumer will probably go with the cheapest option in any case.

Every online retailer  rankings says different.

Here in my local game store there are 100ps4's still standing  but only 1wiiu.

Wiiu must be almost  sold out and the ps4 not selling  .

Really...?  Are you saying that $400 for a Pro is "hardly worth it" with more processing power and hard drive space when the original PS4 sold at the same price?

Think about who it is that would buy a ps4 at this stage. Obviously, people who care about the price, otherwise they would've gotten one already. That is why i don't think its particular popular with new adopters. These are people who probably don't care very much about specs. The audience that cares about specs are the early adopters and hardcore gamers.

Not sold out in Canada. I went to a Best Buy last weekend and they kept replenishing Xbox One S's while the Pros just sat there.

So are you saying that there is only ONE Best Buy in Canada?

Hmmmmm... no.  Let me reiterate.  The original PS4 launched at $400 with a 500 GB HDD.  The PS4 Pro is priced at $400 with a 1 TB HDD and upgraded hardware.  Compare that with the Slim which retails for $300 which is pretty much like the original PS4.  The PS4 (all SKUs) are still selling pretty well three years into this generation.  By these fact, it is worth it.  Now, I'm not going to dictate anyone's buying habits because that's all over the map.  I'm not going to cherry-pick to justify myself.
