Is there a Visual Novel other than NekoPara that moved more than 100k units in the west ? Also, criminal girls got away from critiscism with its rpg maker aesthetics, SJWs are not aware of this game's existence. And the spanking got censored.

You say that like Edo Blacksmith couldn't get censored too, lol.

re. Visual Novels - I have no idea, we don't get sales data for console games.  Steins;Gate likely did since it was released on PC like 3 years before the Steam release and was also released on PS3 & Vita.  DanganRonpa also did (200k across the first & second games on Vita alone).

I don't quite get your point about VN's - if they're not making money, why are we getting so many all of a sudden?  Heck there's 5 otome games releasing for Vita in 2017.  Vita - a niche platform; otome - a niche sub-section of Visual Novels, lol.

I don't get the vita otome craze either. I guess vita became the official otome console (Didn't we get a few on PSP too ? I don't get it, most of my fujoshi friends are DS/3DS users)

We are stil mostly getting fanservice games and games that got an anime adaptation. Many visual novels engines (including Kiririn which is extremely popular) don't support western systems and make localization extremely tedious. We are still not getting LN and anime adaptations, despite LNs' anime adaptation becoming extremely popular.

VNs popularity in the west only started a couple years ago. We may still need about 4-5 years for engines to be adapted to localization, and start getting quality visual novels that don't need to rely on fanservice before they get adapted to anime.

PSP & Vita have been the go-to consoles for otome in Japan, so it's kinda there or no-where for releasing them in the west lol.

But yeah, PSP had two that I know of (Hakuouki and Sweet Fuse).  Vita's had 3 so far and has another 5 lined up for next year!

Oops sorry, you're right about UtaPri.  Still, they've got easier access to it for localization than anything else.

I refuse to believe that in a world where Criminal Girls 2 can come to the west, Great Edo Blacksmith is too risque.  Plus Shin Hayarigami 1 & 2 are easy picks given the growing VN market in the west.

Vita market is stronger than Steam market. It is known.
