Will we ever see a PS1 Classic?

Yes, but not anytime soon. 19 38.00%

No, Sony is too busy with other projects. 31 62.00%

Probably seems super pointless from Sony's perspective.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

See a lot of "That's just silly" and "No need for that"

You know the same people would be first in line to buy it and praise Sony for it.

Not trying to offend, but lets be honest here

Don't get me wrong, I don't think there's a need for it. But not having a need doesn't mean I wouldn't buy it, I would. Just as I'll buy the NES Mini

Fair enough. I guess Im a bit biased here. I have most of the games on the NES Mini, but I own very few PS1 games. So a PS1 Mini would be great for me. I live in europe where PS1 games are more expensive and we get way less games on the PSN.

Aren't NES/SNES games crazy expensive there? I hear that a lot

Some of them are for sure, but many of the great NES games are on the Wii and WiiU VC. Its also very easy to just download an emulator and NES roms on your PC. It gets more complicated with CD based games.

PSTV does a good job as a psOne, its small, support dualshock 3 and 4 and plays most ps1 games, also, the ps3 plays psone discs, so there is deff less need for it ^_^

The biggest problem is getting the games for said console. A lot of Sony's best selling titles were third parties so they would have to make a deal with owners of said game to put it on a classic pnp console. The only other problem I see is the cost since the size of the games will be dramatically bigger then something for an NES/Genesis.

I was going to do the "what are they going to give to psn users?" comment, but then I remember indies.

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

They already released a tiny PS1 console:

It plays most PS1 games (plus PSP games + Vita games)

I still have a CD case full of old PS1 games that I thought were "timeless" and that I'd go back to one day. I even still have my old PS1 memory cards and an adapter (but I'm not sure if it's to run PS1 memory cards on PS2 or PS2 memory cards on PS3!) Turns out, there was an expiration date and those games are ugly and probably even smell bad, now.

Sprites don't age as quickly as crude polygons. I downloaded pretty much every N64 game I ever wanted to my Ouya--only to decide that I didn't want to play 99% of them. Same would apply to PS1.
