Forums - Nintendo - Opinion: Pokemon Sun/Moon look made for 8 year olds... WTF

I guess I am wack, because I'm an original fan, still stick with them and don't mind this change. Pokemon has already been pretty easy games, and telling players what moves are super effective isn't going to ruin that. It seems more like a convenience to me, and who doesn't like that?

Also, I'll take some pancakes, thanks~

Honestly, the display telling you what is not effective and super effective is a big plus for me. The only challenge lost is that you no longer need to memorize typings, which is a pretty lame challenge anyway. Like Star said, SMT has been doing this for years, and those games are plenty challenging. Increasing levels, smarter AI, and enemies with fewer weaknesses in the first place are great challenges, making your audience memorize more things is just a chore.

That being said, I definitely don't expect Sun/Moon to be challenging, but this addition is only a plus in my book.

I think these will be the best pokemon games in the series. Sorry you don't think so.

Like, if I already know the types effectiveness, does it even affect me? If you can tell me what Shuckle or Cradily's type chart goes like, you could be right....

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

It has some of the worst designed pokemon so far, but thats not enough to make me think its "for 8 year olds" or that this gen is gonna be terrible. The changes are well received by critics and deviating from the classic formula is a good decision.

Personally I consider Diamond/Pearl and Black/White the worst gens. XY brought back quality to the series and I enjoyed them like I haven't since Gold/Silver, so I have high hopes for Sun/Moon.

Indeed, when you first battle the pokemon, you do not get to know what is affect until after you fight it or used your moves on it so it still is a learning process, though made a lot easier

Thought this was a Nintation thread at first :p

"Pokemon Sun/Moon look made for 8 year olds"

It's pokemon. It has always been made for 8 year olds.

"I get that with new year's and games come younger and newer fans. But it's completely unfair to the original fans that stuck with Nintendo."
Not many original fans left TBH, especially since the Wii era.

It reminds me of TMS#FE.

All the enemies weakness, resitance and nul is unknown until you use an attack/skill that has that attribute.

Pocky Lover Boy!

I also grew out of it a long time ago but any chance you can include some pics so I can see what you mean?
