Nope.Already been confirmed for a while.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

No. Not only is this not intuitive, it's not comfortably possible to integrate. Switch has 1 screen to our knowledge, and screens can't be separated via casting as the switch is the console itself that needs to be docked to play at home on a monitor or screen.
And even if it was supported in portable mode, you'd have to play with 3 inch screens side by side and top to bottom. That's just going backwards and it isn't really necessary at this point. There could be 3DS games that are ported to make use of 1 screen, it wouldn't be difficult really, then I could see that happening.

That is totally idiotic!
So unless they planon keeping the 3ds around for a few more years, I do not see the point.
Hopefully region lock is gone for sure. |
It actually makes sense. Totally new chipset plus single screen system. Just add complications and cost. Nintendo needs a clean break from everything. Iwata before his passing said they were looking into changing region lock policies implying at region free for the next system.
The Switch cartridges are a fair bit longer than the 3DS ones, you wouldn't be able to take them out of the unit.
BC seems unnecessary tbh, considering almost everyone has a 3DS these days, which can play almost every DS game no problem.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
The only way they can do BC is probably through digitally/eshop.
Pocky Lover Boy!

Unlike the Wii U, which the Switch is clearly replacing (Nintendo is even apparently going to offer some kind of physical trade in things to download Wii U games on Switch), the 3ds is still going to be going strong after the Switch launches for people that want a cheaper, weaker, more easily portable device.
I will just use my 3DS to play my 3DS/DS games. It really does not matter to me.
