Ninja gaiden sigma has more content but it's a dumbed down version when it comes to difficulty. So no, for me it's not better version. Plus sigma is not on xbox and this is about the og xbox.

I played through Sigma on Vita and it still felt pretty brutal for the average gamer.

My point was some of the OG Xbox releases are less appealing with upgraded versions on the market. That includes games like Halo 1 and 2.

For what its worth, Ninja Gaiden is still one of the best Xbox games as is.

Yeah, should be easier to buy those games, on xbox live or something. That's why Steam rules.

Hmm... I don't enjoy playing old 3d games now. But old 2d games are fantastic. Maybe one day I'd like something like a Mini N64 or Xbox, but right now I want a mini SNES more than anything (including a mini NES).

Yeah...I don't think the origional Xbox made enough of an impact to warrant an classic.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

If it was $10-15, sure.

Buy a original xbox for a few pounds/dollars stick in a 2TB hard drive after soft-modding it and pile it up with emulators and roms (upto N64/PS1 full speed emulation) and your favourite xbox games. All accessible with no disk swaps etc. Xbox controller even has a button reset sequence so you can quickly change to game or emulator without moving your arse.

they need to make an MSX classic!

Nah, the xbox isn't even a classic yet. The only other company that could pull it off right now is Sega.

Well, and Atari. Both of whom DO make classic consoles.

Playstation is probably next since the PS1 is over 20 years old now.

I think the nes classic is a good idea, but the original xbox classic will be better and awesome.

Here are my must have picks.

Halo series, Half Life 2, Project Gotham, Splinter Cell Games, Crimson Skies, Jade empire, Ninja Gaiden, Doom 3, SW old republic. Let me know what you think.

Most of these games have a much better version on other systems, so I don't see the appeal.

  • Halo 1: "Anniversary Edition" on Xbox360 or Xbox One (or even the Halo 1 PC-version)
  • Halo 2: "Anniversary Edition" on Xbox360 or Xbox One (or even the Halo 2 PC-version)
  • Half-Life 2: PC-version of "The Orange Box" (or Xbox360- or PS3-Version of "The Orange Box")
  • Project Gotham: racing games don't age very well and are redundant to the successor, better play the 360-versions of PGR3 or PGR4
  • Splinter Cell 1: PC versions (or the classic trilogy in HD on PS3)
  • Crimson Skies: PC-version
  • Jade Empire + SW KotOR: PC-versions (... and even the iOS- and Android-versions are better than the Xbox-version)
  • Doom 3: PC-version of the "BFG Edition" (or Xbox360- or PS3-Version of  the "BFG Edition")
  • Ninja Gaiden: PS3 version (Ninja Gaiden Sigma)
