Forums - Nintendo - Prediction: Both Breath of the Wild ports will be released simultaneously

I don't think so.

Either both versions launch at the same time, without all that pre-order shenanigans the OP said, or Nintendo will try to use Zelda do push more Switch units by delaying the Wii U version.

I hope both will launch at the same time, because I'm going to get the Wii U version, but given past experiences I doubt it.

At this point, I'll be glad if it comes out on Wii U at all.

That would be awful for the Wii U version then..

Hopefully it's not like that D:

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

So what about digital on Wii U?

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I also dont think Nintendo benefits from releasing them seperately. The GC was still supported and in production when the Wii came out, so Zelda was a way to convince the GC install base to swtich over.

As we know, the Wii U is literally dead. If they release them seperately, they wont gain that many sales out of it. Every Nintendo fan will get a Switch anyway, so killing off the few million or 2 million potential Zelda Wii U for bigger exlusives list for the Switch is not worth it.

At least that's how I see it. The best scenario for Nintendo is just cancelling the Wii U version, but that's a huge knife on Wii U owners' back. Best scenario for us is both versions releasing simultaneously, but that's a bit of a tiny risk for Nintendo.

Prediction: It'll release on both systems simultaneously, as Nintendo has already stated. And Wii U version will be printed in fewer quantities, as it should, because most copies will be sold alongside Switch if it's indeed a launch title.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

I swear to God, if the Wii U version is cancelled, Nintendo of Australia's headquarters is gonna mysteriously burn down. That would be the biggest "fuck you" to the core fanbase, not delivering the Wii U Zelda they teased since the system's reveal at E3 2011. Nintendo will never see a penny from me as long as I live if Breath of the Wild doesn't come out for Wii U.

I'm still far from sold on Switch, though I'm not a Nintendo fan.

But I swear that if Nintendo decides to cancel the WiiU version, I'll never, ever, buy another Nintendo machine.

Twilight Princess on GC was purchasable from storeshelves just fine, the reason why the Wii version is over 7m while the GC version only has 1.5m is because for Wii it was a launch title that got a lot more time to sell and initially people wanted to try the motion control over regular control. It will be no different with Breath of the Wild, it will be on shelves for WiiU for a time.

I also wouldn't be surprised if they stagger the release like they did back then as well, with the WiiU version coming a week or maybe two later. They should, because they should push the Switch version as a brand new game, day one buyers of the game are going to get a Switch in favor of just waiting. I guess releasing simultaneously wouldn't be a terrible disaster, but releasing WiiU version first would be a bad idea.

What I'm dying to know is will there be any difference in frame rate or graphical quality between the 2 versions? At this stage I'm still planning to buy this on Wii U but that may change if I hear that the Wii U version is gimped....
