Forums - Gaming Discussion - your controversial opinion about "one of the best games ever made"

I'll bite

ICO: Had the worst controls ever and the combat was immensely frustrating. Its one redeeming feature is a certain nostalgic charm that many games of that era carried.

Batman Arkham games: None of the Batman games have really grabbed me. I abandoned Arkham Knight after the first hour because I couldn't bring myself to play it anymore. I find them dull.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Too many cutscenes, too long of a game, story had minimal impact on me. Bad music, annoying FROG enemies, boring. MGS3 did EVERYTHING better than this game. I actually think MGS3 HD looked better than MGS4 did.

Heavy Rain: I'm already living a mundane and boring life; why would I want to do it in a game world? Heavy Rain gives me the same feeling that I get from being forced to watch Grey's Anatomy. I have never liked interactive story games. Snoozefest.

I hated The Last of Us so much, I never even played it.

Is that even a viable opinion?  To hate a game that you've never even tried?

OP: Halo.  Maybe it was just because during that time i was heavily into PC playing other FPS like Half-life series so when I played Halo it just felt like a mediocre FPS.

Uh, Ocarina of Time didn't age well

This. It may very well be the worst 3D Zelda of all time (for me).

Also... Journey is not a masterpiece. At all. Is not even great. Its a cool tiny game. Nothing more.

Oh, and The Last of Us. I hate when the characters start talking in game and you have to stay still if you want to hear the conversation. If you move too far, they shut up. C'mon game, if you give me the control of the character, you can't make me stop for 2-3 minutes until Joel and whoever he is speaking end their conversation. Cutscenes exist for some reason, and if you don't want to put one, just allow me to do other things while I listen. God, I really hate those moments.

I hated TLOU. People tried to tell me it was the Citizen Kane of video games but it was just a mediocre TPS with really spotty AI. I got about halfway through before I couldn't stomach it anymore. ND should start making digital movies if they want to make movies.

GTA: Most overrated franchise ever, mediocre gameplay, mediocre stories, all +90 reviews and hundreds of million sold, wtf?

Metal Gear 4: Freaking annoying game, a terrible movie with some meh gameplay.

Metal Gear 5: Or how to make a potentially great game feel boring as hell from the very first hours and it only gets worse, also the writing is embarrassing.

Final Fantasy VIII: Extremely unbalanced rpg with embarrassingly puerile story and characters.

Mario 64: An awesome game, one of the most important ever... but it has aged horribly and people still talk about how incredibly fun it is and how better than recent Mario games is. But is not. Not anymore.

Souls (series): They are good games, but they are really overpraised. One thing you hear a lot about them is how hard but fair they are. What? No. Souls are some of the most unfair videogames I have ever played, is like it doesn't want me to play it, constantly trying to kill me in the most dirty ways it can with a camera that doesn't help, it relies on constant fustration and that can be really annoying.

I hate Uncharted 1 so much that I didn't even finish it

I'm yet to play 2, 3 and 4

Was a joke... Was going for an ironic fanboy post. I failed.

Why can't I be funny like Reim.

The witcher 3. Loved #2 amazing game. 3 was completely different in terms of story it just sucked. It was basically do XXX and be ill tell you some of the story. It constantly repeated that cycle for over 20 hours. Such lazy writing.

Oooh boy. I get to slag on FF VII? Yeah, relentless, oppressive, random battles drove me nuts. I swallowed it with FF VI. I think the loading times on the SNES helped big time. Got to disk 2 and sold it.

Ugh. My avatar doesn't last long. 3-4 weeks. I was hoping I could triple green somebody, and it took 2 days. That's like 20 games in your list. MGS V....I had a massive glitch that fucked everything. Don't agree otherwise, but it's dead to me. Never played FF VIII. Triple green.
