Forums - Gaming - What was your *first* main series Final Fantasy game?

FF3 on the SNES.

Outside the side scrollers and zelda that was the first proper game i played that made me change how i looked at games for ever. It was also why I left Nintendo for good when I realized FF7 wasn't going to make it to the N64 because of nintendos stubborn decision to still use carts (amongst other things).

Now that i think of it, the N64/PS era was the last time I was a day one multiplatform console gamer.

Mine was Final Fantasy VIII back on the PS1

I would not have guessed... (looks at avatar...lol jk it could've just meant that Squall is your fav FF character)

In my 26 years as a gamer the most i have played a FF was 7 for 30 minutes. Other than that i have only watched other people play them. Chances are if i can get a NES Classic Final Fantasy 1 will be the first  i complete. Did finish Mystic Quest on SNES once though, in german actually

The original Final Fantasy

I played it when it came out in the states. I was an 8 year old playing his first RPG and have loved the series ever since.

FF3 on DS

Final Fantasy I

Was the second JRPG I ever played and cemented my life long love of the genre (The Original Dragon Quest was my first)

VIII was the first one for me. It was great, but I think I was too young to really understand everything properly. Then the game broke, and I never got to finish it. X was my second one, and it's also my favorite so far. I was older so I got so much more out of it, and I also almost finished it at the time. It's quite strange that I got around to finishing it as late as this year, when it was released on PC. >_>

The very first FF I played was through some emulator my uncle had, and it was FFIV. I was too young to understand anything (as it was in English), though I remember playing quite a bit from it.

The one that I first played, understood (sorta I guess because the translation was a trainwreck) and beat was FF VII, though.
