Wasn't Microsoft going to change their mod policy on their PC service? Anyway, Farmville with mods might be huge.  Anyone remembers farmville?

Not entirely sure on that, though even if they did it wouldn't be as open as with GoG (which is DRM free and thus entirely open) or even Steam.

Facebook could carve a niche by say, asking devs if they could make spinoffs of existing games, like say an Elder Scrolls RTS or Tower defense game lol. I mean we already have Traveller's tales making lego spinoffs of existing IP's and Telltale Games with other IP's like TWD, FB could hop onto that wagon as a third wheel, though those spinoffs of theirs would have to be legit games and not those designed just to siphon cash from while you run that obvious hamster wheel. FB need to take the dedicated gaming side more seriously, but knowing their very late approach, I feel they see it as only a means to tap the market just to make easy cash and not for the sake of gaming in general.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

I think this would work out for Facebook users that don't use Steam.. :p

I have Steam, GOG, Uplay, Origin and Desura.

I wouldnt mind adding another :p

I forgot I had Origin and whatever Epic games has. I got Shadow Run for free some time ago and forgot I had it.

Oh god. First Twitch and now this. Seems like every cool kid nowadays needs his own client. What's next?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

No thanks, between Steam, GOG Galaxy and Origin, I have enough clients and I can't see what possible feature or software this service could offer me that I want and can't get anywhere else.

Is there anything Facebook has created (other than itself) which has been successful? If this wasn't about a dedicated app for browser games (which sounds like a failure), they should continue buying successful rivals to own the market. In games that would be Valve and Steam.

Seems like Facebook wants to take games more seriously since they just announced a new service to compete with Steam.

This doesn't compete with steam..... Competes with the Windows Store, as I believe they have a lot of mobile-esque casual apps/games on there.

Despite multiple flops, Mark is always launching new services, and why shouldn't he? An addicted userbase and everyone on the planet uses his website. We'll see how this one turns out.

I don't use Facebook.
