Suikoden IV for PS4 launches November 4 in Europe

First Konami title to join the PS2 on PS4 lineup.

Suikoden IV will launch for PlayStation 4 as a PS2 on PS4 title this Friday, November 4 in Europe, the latest “What’s New This Week” post on the European PlayStation Blog reveals. 

The RPG first launched for PS2 in August 2004, before launching in North America and Europe in January and February 2015, respectively.

It is currently unknown when the game will release in North America.

Suikoden IV features the return of the 108 Stars of Destiny, as well as an enhanced interface in a new oceanic environment. You’ll follow a young knight while he struggles with Rune, which slowly steals the life of its bearer. The game’s strategic battle systems let you attack or cast magic spells with help from other party members. Recruit members of the Stars of Destiny and create a base from the ground up. With a brand-new storyline, characters, and cutscenes, Suikoden IV takes the series to the next level.

Awesome news. After S1 and S2, I always wanted, but never actually got to put enough time in the PS2 ones... fingers crossed for tactics to be re-mastered too :D

The weakest Suikoden, though that doesn't mean it wasn't good. It seemed unfinished and rushed.

Also, most Suikoden fans aren't going to fall for that title. We know better than to expect another real Suikoden.

I would urge everyone to pirate this game. Don't give Konami your money. They'll eventually be bought out by a real game company, and their IPs will no longer be held hostage by Pachinko Slot machines.

With trophies? If so im buying! Suikoden is Final Fantasys equal.

And the only one I got to play I still remember the hype for the previous entries, and decided to give this one a try. I was not all that impressed.

Blech. Much as I love 1-3, 4 basically killed Genso Suikoden. Straight trash IMO.
