I'm not sure if they will, tho I agree that it would be a good idea.
In any case, if the dock only powers the system and doesn't have any aditional hardware, I can see peripheral makers launching their own docks.
Please excuse my bad English.

| Ultrashroomz said: If anyone knows about my Nintendo conspiracy theory, I will just say, yes, Nintendo will 100% sell the dock separately from the console, cause charging customers extra money for a very important peripheral will definitely ensure customer trust and get you extra profits! But in all seriousness, with the exception of the pro controller, everything shown will be sold together. |
It's not about taking the dock out of the package. It's about making a separate package for people who just want another dock without paying for the whole console again. I think I'll clarify in the OP.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
Knowing Nintendo, the dock is the only possible way to charge the tablet.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I don't get why they wouldn't... Like if something happens to your dock, you wouldn't be buying an entire new device for it... The dock itself doesn't do much apart from I/O and charge.
Unless you mean that the dock doesn't come with the handheld and you have to buy it seperately, then that's a no

Its going to depend on a couple factors.
1) Is it considered something that wears out / can get damaged and is cheaply replaced?
2) Will they start selling the console without the dock such that people will share a dock in the home?
I think it will later on as it is not going to be an expensive component. It is only responsible for providing connections for the purpose of connecting to a TV. I tossed around the idea of Nintendo selling the NS without a dock, but that doesn't make sense as the cost of materials for this dock sounds like its next to nothing to warrant any real reason to sell without. But then again Nintendo did offer consoles without cords in various regions.
