Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo is screwing those who bought a Wii U

Is this a joke post? My god, some people's way of thinking is way too weird and illogical.

The OP is why I'm not buying a Switch.
My Wii U will be ran into the ground before I buy another mainline Nintendo home console. Fool me once...

Was the Wii-U really your first console ever? It must have certainly been your first Nintendo machine because the support for SNES - N64 - GC and Wii all dropped like a rock when their successor consoles were on the way, and rightly so because the only thing worse than a Gaming company we love launching an unpopular, un profitable console... would be if they were to stick with it until they closed their doors just to please some disgruntled person who only got 5 years out of a console.

I would think the real fans of Nintendo would be happy to see them move away from the failure that was the Wii-U unless you are just upset at yourself for not doing a little research into the system before buying it and now find yourself with a machine with a short life span left? because then I'd understand why you're upset, but it shouldn't be at Nintendo.

It's not the consumers fault in my opinion. Consumers should not be forced to study what Nintendo did in the past before buying their new console they're selling. Nintendo did an awful job with Wii U. It's Nintendo's fault. Even considering Nintendo's past, Wii U is one of their worst consoles ever, maybe the worst. It lacks some of Nintendo's own franchises and it was dead one year before the release of the NS. Wii U is horrible, no one could predict that some years ago.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

There were three ravens sat on a tree / They were as blacke as they might be / The one of them said to his mate, Where shall we our breakfast take?

Are anyone upset that GTAV eventually released on the PS4/Xbone after being released on PS3/X360? How about The Last of Us remastered after the original game was released a year earlier? How about the remixes of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5 being released again on PS4/Xbone?

Zelda BoTW being exclusive to Wii U would've been nice and all, but it wouldn't help Nintendo's business if they cannot at least maximize its sales potential by releasing it on the Switch. The Wii U won't be able to benefit as much at this point since the console itself is not really getting anywhere.

At this point, the Switch gives Nintendo a great opportunity to do as what Darwinianevolution stated. Create a solid first party library that has little to no redundancy and provide greater communication between hardware and software divisions. This can potentially create less droughts, which was one of the reasons why the Wii U suffered. Plus, with a few years under their belt in terms of HD development, Nintendo can learn from their experiences with HD development and create games more efficiently.

OMG, Sony screwed me over because I was led to believe that TLoU was exclusive to the PS3...get over it.  You bought the Wii U to play games on it.  If you did that, then you got what you paid for.  It seems like forums have been overrun by "entitled" people who only whine and bitch.

This is absolutely stupid.  There are zero guarantees when you buy a new system of what the future holds.  Anyone who buys a system today because they think game X will come out for it in a year, needs therapy.  I personally have had a lot of fun with the games that I've bought for the Wii U and I've bought a lot of them.

I feel like the only people who jump on this train of thought ironically are people who did not buy a WiiU in the first place.

I've put 80+ hours into the likes of MK8, Splatoon, Smash, Hyrule Warriors, XCX, Mario Maker as well as lots of time with many other games. I don't feel screwed, I feel delighted more people will get a chance to try these games. If it's just a port, I'm not going to cry about it. If ports have enough new content that it is nearly a full sequel, I'll go for it. If not - I can always move on to other games

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

So if WiiU loses exclusives retroactively you'll be upset? I don't get it. It's not like a NS port suddenly erases the three years Mario Kart 8 or Smash had (and continue to have) on WiiU. Does the WiiU Virtual Console negate the SNES library?

I agree.  His logic (or lack there of) is extremely flawed.  I'm super happy to have had great Wii U console exclusive games like Bayonetta 2, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Lego City Undercover, MK8, Pikman 3, Splatoon, SMB 3D World, Super Mario Maker, SSB, Yoshi's Wolly World, Xenoblade Chronicles X among many more.  If they were all remastered fore Switch so that people who didn't get a chance to play them on the Wii U would now get to play them, I think that would be great.  Nintendo does need to make sure that there are good new games on the Switch for those of us who already played the others though.

Wait, so let me get this straight. You feel betrayed because the Switch may be getting a few Wii U ports, even though none of that is confirmed, and a lack of a Zelda title, even though the Wii U is still getting it, meanwhile the NS may be getting as many, or more new games for the console? I think there's a lot of jumping the gun here.

Lack of exclusive Zelda title. Gamecube have WindWaker. Wii have Skyward Sword. Twilight Princess was good addition for both platforms.

Zelda BotW was spread across two platforms. Zelda BotW for Wii U was delayed twice. Zelda BotW for Wii U will run like shit, and we are all know it. All Wii U features were removed to show Switch version in a good light.

Does it matter if the Wii U is not getting its own Zelda game? No, no it doesn't. What does matter, is that a new Zelda's going to be released soon, and from the sound of feedback from players who demoed it, it looks like it's gonna be a good one.

Also, I don't know much about Zelda U/NS, but I don't recall people saying it ran poorly. I think it's safe to say it's not going to run poorly.

Whats more is I ll probably buy Mario Kart 8 again, just to play the enhanced edition on the switch.

I've got many reasons to dislike Wii. Remastering its games to NS is not a problem for me though.

I think you forgot that you are supposed to hate on the Wii U not the Wii in this thread.
