What came to mind for me as well.  I remember back then how the DS was "The Third Pillar" Nintendo would stand on.  it just happened the GBA stopped getting support making it a very weak pillar while DS got tons of support.

I expect the Switch to have similar relationship with 3DS/Wii U.



The only way for the 3DS to NOT be replaced (and continue to grow) is if the Switch is priced at $299 and above. Anything below $299.99 will see the 3DS replaced
