Forums - Nintendo - What good local multiplayer games am I missing for Wii U?

You could give the COD games a go. Dunno if you have a xbox one or ps4 there aswell though

I think only Nintendo Land is missing from your list.

We played Hyrule Warriors in multiplayer mode and I must say, at first it was kinda weird to shake the Wiimote all the time but after a minute I got used to it and didn't care anymore.

I'll make him get use to it if I get the game... Thats really a really wierd design choice by the devs...

I have an Xbone, but I don't take it to University with me(or have a 2nd controler), so it wouldn't be available. I've heard call of duty for Wii U has Wiimote controls (and some form of multiplayer... I think), but the only issue is my roommate is a bit of a PC elitest and would never use anything other than keyboard and mouse for a shooter... Though he can't really talk since the shooter he spends all day playing is quite dreadful.

Yeah you can play ghosts and black op 2 locally with the wii remote. Is your Wii u online at your dorm or room you share?

It's actually not that easy to get used to.. since it's really annoying and your hand can get tired from the mindless shaking :p

What usually happens is that we alternate playing with the Wii remote so it's not that bad

But, I really had fun playing 2 player HW, since it's twice as easy to defend points, push at different ends and to collect skulltulas etc.

Yeah, my apartment has internet... Actually surprisenly rather fast internet too. Online games typically run with little issue.

About that Hyrule Warriors. I was going to show him a playthrough video to gadge his interest and he watched 5 seconds and said he doesn't like it and walk away... He can be really hard to work with sometime (not the first time he has said he wouldn't like a game then ended up loving it)... I've been interested in the game, I'll probably just get it and be his loss if he doesn't want to join. From what I've watch on Youtube, Co-op seems very fun

Be wary of Hyrule Warriors co-op. My personal experience is that the game slows down to a snails pace when the action gets heavy, the Gamepad resolution drops to almost unbearable levels and the game often crashes and you have to turn the console off.

I love Hyrule Warriors but it's a single player only game for me....

Tekken Tag Tournament 2. It's the definitive version of the game.

Too bad it only sold 23 copies.
