Forums - Gaming - So what was the super secret NX feature Nintendo didn't want anyone to copy?

I don't think we know this yet. I'm not going to assume much until the 12th when it's fully revealed.

You mean playing PSP game via cable on half of screen TV!? Yes I am, thats just PSP, and does not act like real home console at all.

Well maybe I should've mentioned also the PSP Go, but you can dock them and play your PSP/PSP Go using a dualshock 3 controller.

It was unfortunate the PSP couldn't expand to fit the whole TV screen but it was still bigger than the actual PSP screen so i was ok with that.

Games like MGS PW, God of War, R&C, Crisis Core FF7 etc...they all felt like playing a home console game.

Maybe we experienced it differently, but to me the PSP/PSP Go was a genuine hybrid console that felt like a portable and home console.

But Switch will act like real home console, not only whole TV screen for games but its most likely that games will run at 1080p compared to 720p on handheld mode, separate controller and local multiplayer. Basicly real home console. :)

How about the playstation Vita TV, this was a real portable console. Just a shame it didnt run PS3 games, otherwise it could have been super awesome :(

But the PSP was designed in 2004 where HD TV were still coming around and tube tvs still existed, sure if the PSP hooking up to the TV was using an HDMI i'd expect a bit more but it was just using the RGB wires.  (quickly looking on Youtube some people have found ways to make it fit bigger/full on your TV).

As technology advances it gives the creators more features to impliment better ideas so its expected that the Switch should perform better in all aspects as a hybrid console compared to the PSP.  That's just the basic evolution of technology but doesn't mean the PSP didn't perform well as a home console.  What do you expect a hyrid console to be comparing one from 2004 and one in 2017?

They said they didn't show the console for the longest time in fear of others copying some supa dupa NX feature.

What was it?

Didn't you watch the reveal video?

I don't think this feature has been revealed yet because there is no feature that isn't available elsewhere. Nothing that captures the imagination. I think in the detail that comes later there will be a feature or 2 that makes the product more appealing.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
