Forums - Nintendo - Hajime Tabata very interested in Switch

We might get a XV port in 2020 if we are lucky.

There is little doubt SE will put FF on the NS. They cannot give up that kind of potential market space.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Well Dragon Quest XI is coming the Switch so this isn't shocking. I think FFVII remake is quite likely, XV less so. Mainly cause - iirc - XV is built on an engine that has been a long time problem child for Square and I think they really just want to finish that game, put it out, take their money home in a shipping container, and then never touch that engine again if possible. FFVII - again, if I remember correctly - is built on more stable, recently made tech and would not only be more likely to run well on the Switch but more importantly is early enough in development to slot the Switch in without much trouble while XV is almost here. Unless XV has had a Switch version for a while and they've kept it quiet, which I doubt.

Another possibility would be a Bravely console game with graphics very similar to the Bravely Second cutscenes as a Switch exclusive, could be very cool.

Edit:  Although if their event in January showed XV, VII Remake, Dragon Quest XI, AND something exclusive...dang, the internet might just implode.

Japan will probably love it.

Pocky Lover Boy!

Final Fantasy: Chocobo's Dungeon 3 or something like that.

Well, getting FF7 remake would be huge for Swiches advertising like: 'FF7 finally coming home!'
I think the chances of getting 15 are pretty slim at this point. If it isn't already in developement, and going off of his comment it doesnÄt seem like it is, it would be a very late port to the console and probably don't do much good.

Now putting an FF collection on the console on the other hand might be a very smart move.

Ah? While he thinks it's cool, there is 0% commitment in what he said.

I'd like to get excited, but after looking at his track record, I wouldn't get my hopes up for any cool RPG games.

Well, as long as SE brings so good fun RPGs to the NS.
