FF in every single way.I mean, it is superior no matter the category.Granted that I havent played that many Dragon Quest games, but enough to have an idea.

I was a long time FF fan and did not know much about Dragons Quest, it even took me 10 years after the release of 8 to play my first Dragon Quest game. But it is a better and more solid JRPG series. I recommend to start with Dragon Quest 5 PS2 fan translation or 8.

Even tho DQ is an awesome franchise overall and I have really loved most of the games I've played, I would take FF6 and FF12 over any DQ.

Nice try but you're not gonna make me choose between the two megagods of JRPG(fuck the king). They're both great in their own way.

I prefer Final Fantasy because each one is always trying to do better than the last, and still FF7 is the champ.

FF XII & FF VIII are the old winners, but to tell the truth this is the past, for the future I vote for DQ to be the better title

Dragon Quest VIII was really good, VII was nice also on Ps1. Never played any others.
Final Fantasy... I have played remakes of 1,2,3, played VI, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and the terrible 13 spin offs.
8 was really intense to me, really cool game, all the others were decent in their own way.
I say: right now both are in terrible shape, Dragon Quest trying to survive in nostalgia and Final Fantasy getting more and more lost in pityful regreatable development decisions, but I guess FF had more to offer in their glory days.

I have always felt that Dragon Quest was always the better product from a gameplay standpoint, and it strived to stay true to its roots while catering to its fan. Final Fantasy has more flair, but I felt it has strayed from its root to appeal more to a mass marketable audience.  And I never thought I'd see the say when Enix and Squaresoft finally merged as one once being direct competitors.  Between the two, my vote is for Dragon Quest.  If Final Fantasy fell off the face of the earth today, I'd feel no big loss.

Persona 3 was a amazing game. 4 was ok. 5 looks like it is getting a little lost to be honest, like style finally got more important than substance, which is not the case with earlier Persona titles.

Well, I guess the thing that made me fall for Persona 3 was the horror aspects that particular game had, it was almost like a Junji Ito novel, minus the gore.

I admit, I probably can´t think they will repeat that all over again with every title, but I do remember the Persona Ps1 games as very creepy offerings, not flamboyant cosplay fests.

Ys beats both. So does Xenoblade and Grandia plus Phantasy Star (not online)

Out of those 2 Dragon Quest. It's remained consistently good. Final Fantasy just gets worse and worse. FF is Sonic now. It sells in spite of itself.
