Hate to sound like a hater (I'm gonna do so anyway) but I long for the days of the demise of FPS and the return of prominent RPGs.

Why not both?

The release window is full on idiotic but the reviews are good so hopefully that boosts it a bit.

I'm looking forward to it but I will be getting BF1 this weekend and I usually only have time for one shooter. I feel EA should have delayed this game until early next year and give it a better marketing push. I'm sure it will do really well but I would have picked it up at launch or close it it during a slower period.

Well this is one of the most idiotic game release dates in recent years. Up there with ROTR that's for sure.

I really don't understand how the heads at EA figured that releasing their two biggest non-sports titles this year a week between each other. If they think that will hurt COD which is coming out next week they are very wrong

I don't really wanna see FPS die. I just with the industry would create some sort of balance. Nearly every large scale game nowadays is some sort of shooter. FPS mainly.I'd love to see more Dragon's Dogma, Diablo, Zelda, etc. More games along those lines.

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

Then that wouldn't be balance. The market makes it clear that there are more gamers who like shooters than RPGs. If you made as many RPGs as you make shooters we'd have an inbalance in favor of RPG fans and against shooter fans.

I think Titanfall 2 has gotten much less of a push by EA as well. It might have benefitted from a spring or summer release, when there's less competition around.

Anyways it's insane that nowadays a game that sells 6m can be considered a dissappointment.

Substantially disappointing to the analysts own prediction, sure. This reminds me of the original where lots of people had their own ideas of what qualified as a success and how the original couldn't have possibly met EA's expectations despite EA saying it did and how it might not even get a sequel and yet here we are.

Also, wouldn't EA have expected sales to be affected by COD and BF1? That would lower their own expectations.

It will sell similar to Rainbow Six Siege due to the crowded launch window but high quality, meaning it will have long legs
