Phil Spencer Chimes In On Alan Wake 2 Hold Up

While some have speculated that it may have been due to financial issues and the long development cycle of the original game that has caused the hold up, Xbox’s Phil Spencer has now added a bit more to the conversation. He recently did an interview with Stevivor where he was asked about the potential of an Alan Wake 2. He said “How do I put this? Well, the developer… the developer has to want to make the game.”

They should remake their first with improved visuals, like Gears of War: UE quality visuals.

That would help get some hype going.

"It doesn't have Halo or Gears in the title so we can't be bothered to push for it"

Well, not that I believe him, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I agree with that. The demand for the game is there. If Remedy is worried about interest...they should release a "Gears like" remaster to gauge it. Don't know if they would defeat the purpose of the backwards compatibility or not though.

That doesn't sound particularly wise when just a normal remaster will do. While seeing something like that would be fantastic, I don't think the audience would be there.

With a Gears like remaster, everything would be touched up. It's not like they would have to develop brand new stages and such. The groundwork is present already. All they have to do is polish a few things here and there. I don't know anything about shading, AA, textures or anything like that when talking about game development. If the game is already on BC....what will a remaster do to diferentiate itself? Gamers will then say, "why not something like a Gears remake...I'll buy that!"

I get what you're saying though.
