Yeah man, fuck liking a team because they're fun to watch, work together and produce great football with their skills.

Well, I find fan culture and what a team represents much more important to choose if that team is something I want to root for. I'm not saying people shouldn't be Barcelona fans, just that I can't take fans of a team serious who are only fans because that team wins a lot.
I would even say that most of these fans who also laugh about other teams would be fans of these other teams if they would be more successful. They are fans of success and not the team and their "hate" against other teams is also irrelevant since it's only coincidence which club they are a fan of. They would be pretty much fan of any team if that would win the most lol.

Enjoying awesome goals does not equate to "winning". I've enjoyed their ways of playing and scoring when they've lost as well.
What I find immature is this toxic notion that a fan has to be a certain way and value the same things you do.
I've heard everything from "you can only be a true lover of the sport if you only suppport domestic teams" to what you just described.
There's no person on this earth that fits the criteria of every negative football fan out there.
What matters is that you find something in the sport that you genuinely enjoy.
No one ever gave a damn about what others think they should like 150 years ago when the sport started, and they don't today.
But keep telling them. I'm sure it's appreciated and will change the minds of many lost souls out there.
