Forums - PC - Should I buy The Witcher 3 now ?

20€ for a fantastic 100 hours+ game on Steam? You should feel ashamed to make this thread. :P

My recommendation would be not to buy it now. Wait until they offer the base game for full price for some reason and then buy it. It still will feel a steal at $60.

Yes. Not much more to say, just....yes.

Personally, I'm not buying it until it's really cheap. Bought the first two from word of mouth and hated the combat.

Combat in TW3 is nothing like 1 and 2, just so you know. It's a lot more chaotic and fresh and relies on actual immersion and movement and not the silly combo and symbol clicking of the first one or the rather stale "back up two strides, hit at opening, roll sideways, repeat" combat of the sequel.
The combat is one of the best aspects of the game, and certainly head and shoulders above anything Bethesda ever released (Skyrim and Fallout 4 have rather poor combat mechanics), it has more in common with the likes of the Souls series than the first Witcher, for instance.

Animations are terrific as well, makes you feel like a real badass in swordfights! Plus the entire package of the game is just too good to miss for any RPG fan, the voice-acting, amazing soundtrack, great mythology, unbelieveable world and setting, stories and a quest structure that piss on every RPG I ever played (and I've played RPG's since 1991). It is quite simply staggering what they've accomplished with this, Bioware and Bethesda have a whole lot to learn from CD Projekt and CD Projekt Red.
