Say, do you like my drawings?

I'm always impressed with your ability to state a bold vision and draw a cute girl that delivers on that vision!

You made me laugh.  At first, I was like, "wha ... what does that have to do with ... ooohh!"

Haha, sorry, couldn't help myself.

I wanted the NX to have a ton of power. It doesn't. So they lost me as a consumer with that alone... Seems Microsoft and Sony are almost chuffed with that if you read between the lines.

I hope for those who do purchase this though, that it gets the 3rd party support that it deserves and it ends up with a good chunk of marketshare to compete with Microsoft and Sony.

Why would you ever expect power out of a console? For power, you go to PC.

I am a PC gamer, so already ahead of you there.

It's not that I expect it, it's that I want it, if a company doesn't provide a certain degree of expected fidelity, then I'll go elsewhere.
It's really a simple concept.

I know you're PC but I assume you understand the importance of good software too. At times, software is more important than hardware.

Shu will say something similar, and people will applaud him. Typically how it goes, he is really the only one that says something nice.

Yoshida usually says something more ... human-ish.  Like when he tweeted "( ´ ▽ ` )ノ Congrats Phil, great show!".  Actually, Phil does, too.  However, this was such a political non-statement that I think it deserves to be poked that.

What do you mean by more 'human-ish'?

When are the times where hardware is more important than software?  I submit that this is never the case.  Hardware can make good software better.  It cannot make anything good on its own.

Avid PC gamers generally want power and will buy expensive hardware.

Anybody interested in Switch... wants a reasonably powerful gaming machine, at a reasonable price, with notable software.

Most importantly, there isn't anything comparable as a handheld PC gaming device.

You do realise I am a hardware enthusiast? ...Software more important than hardware? Pfft. Get out of here. :P

In reality more hardware gives you better imagry, which assists in immersion.
Hardware and Software is equally as important as each other.

Well. It should be interesting to see what the emulation scene ends up looking like for this device.
But there are devices which are similar to this. (Android+Physical Controls+7"+ screen.)

I see many of these gaming executives saying good things about competing products all the time. I don't have any reason to believe that they're being disingenuous. Its pretty normal in business, and in life, for people to respect and appreciate the accomplishments of their competitors. I don't see any business reason for Spencer to make a BS statement about his thoughts on Switch. He could say nothing at all at this point, and nobody would care.

Trying to think of an instance when hardware is more important but can't think of one. XBox1 and PS4 at times struggle at keeping 60fps but not because of their hardware. XBox1 and PS4 are perfectly capable of running at 60 but the software isn't always written that way.

Although, on second thought, I think Pemalite games on PC for the graphics...

Okay, I think you are more about graphics and not as much about performance? Or perhaps both?

No! Microsoft is the bad guy even when they're being the good guy!

Someone asked Phil his opinion on the NX and apparently it's his fault if the media makes an article out of everything he has to say. Guess he should just shut up and be a good corporate suit like the other guys.
