i can understand the argument that it is two devices in one but...

...i would never use it as a portable. it is too big to be portable. for me this could only be a home console and as a home console the power displayed would be very disappointing for $400. also the standard controller looks crappy for home console usage.

i don't think i'd pay more than $200 for this. i just don't find value in a portable device the size of an ipad mini. i don't want to carry a purse.

That thkng looks a tad bigger than an iPad mini but smaller than an ipad pro. I can see plenty of people using it as a portable device

It really depends on what the dock does. Does it enhance the Switch's processing power? If so, yes 399 is fair. Considering you're not tethered to your home anymore when you want to play amazing looking games.

hmm, I don`t think that would really be fair. I`ve already argued the case of people who simply don`t care about playing it away from home (so that`s not worth a single penny more for them) but the opposite is surely true as well. There`ll be people who just aren`t interested in using it as a home console and really just want a handheld and I doubt they`d be happy paying a premium for a feature they`re not interested in. Unless of course there`s a model without the dock that is a fair bit cheaper of course.

The thing is, from what I can tell, the Switch handhend and dock are 1 in the same. They coexist. So, you kind of have to have the portable aspect. So you get taking it on the go whether you like it or not. Considering it doesn't need a disc drive to play games like this, I think the cost won't go above 399 but will go from 300-350.

299 with a game

Part of what you're paying for is convenience. If you want this console as part of your entertainment system and on the goal, then paying $400 might be worth it. I say save the $100 by making it a more conventional home console. Let the 3DS do the portability while the Switch caters the home are a more attractive affordable price.

From what I've seen I wouldn't pay more than CAD 299 for it, which is $226 atm.

This is assuming they sell everything together as the only means of purchase. I still think they will sell home bundles and mobile bundles with the option to upgrade fully.

Home console bundle: $349
- Docking station
- Tablet
- Pro controller
- Game

Mobile version: $349
- Tablet and charger
- Switch controllers and charging section in the middle
- Case
- Game

The upgrade to either will cost $149

Console upgrade:
- Docking station
- Pro controller
- Hdmi cable
- PU

Mobile upgrade:
- Charger(s)
- Case
- Switch controllers and middle section

All in this will cost $499.

I voted $449, even though it's less mass market friendly. But assuming it gets you more beef....fuck yes I'd pay that. I'm actually thinking about getting one at this point. Probably won't, but it looks really nice. Tempting.

300 sounds better but 250 will be the perfect price.

$300 would be better, since you can get the PS4 and Xone at 400..

I think it will be in the $350-400 price range though

You get a PS4 slim or Xbone S for €300 only the PS4 pro is €399. If it releases at €400 it needs to be at least as strong as the Xone in docking mode.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

$199 is the only acceptable price for something so graphically inferior to current gen. I mean it will be competing for the next gen and its weaker than current gen. Frankly it should be $99 but that is impossible so $199 is their only option
