Yes it is a little presumptious, it depends what you mean by roughly. But a substantial boost over the WiiU in power for a handheld device isn't really feasible. Even a marginal increase would make it a phenomenal device!

Watch this footage closely on 1080p, and I think you'll notice the Switch might be considerably more powerful than Wii U:

Depends what you mean by considerably, when I say not substantially more powerful I mean basically not as powerful as an XBO. It could still be twice as powerful as the WiiU though. Nintendo put out some amazing looking games on the WiiU even with it's low power, I'm sure they can surprise us with what they manage to output on the Switch regardless of how much raw power it actaully has.

I think the dock has a secondary gpu chip and there is room for that. The cpu is pure handheld but the gpu with extra juice in the dock

That would be coherent with mid gen upgrade on home consoles, which is nice for developpers. It would be weird to see the same game on two different resolutions though.

yeah that's actually a great idea if true. They dn't need an entirely new console like pro or scorpion, just a new more powerful docking station and the erly adopters aren't screwed cause they are paying less for the supplementary docking station

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

Super Mario 3D Mexico confirmed?

The video highly suggests the dock does NOT give additional power. Don't set yourself up for disappointment by expecting "secret sauce"

I'm excited for the switch though! It's looking good.

Nowhere it suggest there is no extra power. But to your point, it also dosent necessarily suggest it will have.I just think the dock is too big to be just one big charging unit.

They just remove the tablet from the dock, during gameplay. You can't just take out a CPU, GPU or even Memory that is being used by a piece of software.

It sold me with how it showed:
- Playing Zelda BOTW, Splatoon, and MK8 ON THE FUCKING GO!!!!

NO MORE BORING TRAIN AND BUS RIDES TO UNI AND BACK HOME!!!

Lol, skyrim is a port of a port. Dont get excited.

Did the Wii U have skyrim?

Pocky Lover Boy!

Still main question are open:
- Does it have a boost mode for homeplay? If not it won't be much more powerful than the WiiU
- Price? Is 199$ without the dock-station possible?
- BC with 3DS?

I really liked the design and the logo.
But the trailer makes it feel like it's just a portable Wii U, they showed 3D World, Mario Kart, Splatoon, Zelda, just Wii U stuff, with the exception of Skyrim, which is a 7th gen game.
Poor Wii U onwers xP

Anyway, lets wait for the pricing and the new games now.

That wasn't 3D World, silly BraLoD.

It looks cool. Pokémon alone will make this sell (especially at $199).

And it seems promising that Bethesda, Take Two (2K and Rockstar), Ubisoft, EA, Activision, Sega, Capcom, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, Konami, etc. are all on board.

Yet no reason not to be optimistic imo.

We'll see how impresive your deductive powers are or whether nintendo is really good at switching seamlessly from console to protable

Yes the video shows switching, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c6MWsEE884&feature=youtu.be&t=29s.

Notice how gameplay doesn't stop or freeze for a moment, hell he doesn't even have to pause the game. That shows the dock is doing no gpu/cpu calculations, there's not a chance in hell you can just remove hardware that is performing rendering or calculations like that. It's pretty obvious really.

Though the dock could have inbuilt tech to do fancy upscaling it won't actually do any calculations in the game. It won't give additional cpu,gpu or ram. The best you can hope for is that it overclocks the tech already in the tablet.

I wouldn't stick to that, the purpose of the video is to promote the concept, there could be a process in switching screens that wasn't shown

I'd stick to the fact that TV graphics look identical to the handheld graphics, if there was something extra in the dock they would certainly spare a few seconds to emphasize it

so yeah, a great handheld, could be a perfect all-in-one console however :/

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
