To all of those who claimed this wasn't a hybrid, and wasn't intended to be replacing both the Wii U and the 3DS.

;)

For those of you that haven't gathered, this is a portable console that connects to your tv with a dock. The game goes in the controller. The bulk of the console's usable power is in the controller.

Its nice for everyone to see what I've seen for a 8 months.

If it only connects to the TV without the docking station providing any extra noticable amount of power, doesn't sound like a hybrid to me...

Seriously give it up with AMD. It's *over*.

Overall, I do not like the design. Those detachable controllers look awful and seem unnecessary. People will try them out a little bit, decide they're impractical, and never use them again. "Multi-player on the go" does not seem like that big of a selling point to me but we shall see. Perhaps it could be popular in Japan? I don't know.

Anyway, the design looks like it will add cost while vastly increasing the possibility of mechanical failure, accidental damage, or loss. Seems like packing in a normal controller and leaving the Vita thing in one piece would have been the better option.

Other than that, it seems pretty nifty. I think the gimmick part can be ignored, generally speaking, which is good.

Lots of information needed beyond that, of course, but if it CAN play handheld games then I'm interested. If it can't, then I'm not. Price withstanding, of course.

I don't see how people can comment on the power of the system when the games showed weren't meant to show off the power of the system.

Since when was Mario a benchmark for a system's power? Skyrim being there is probably just to show they have Bethesda's support, not to show off graphics. Jumping to too many conclusions. Not saying it WILL be more powerful, but you can't say you know that based off of a trailer showing the system more than the games.

Nothing in that video suggested to me that the dock would have any affect whatsoever on the power of the machine, it looks like simply a charing dock with hdmi out and usb ports.

Nothing in the video suggest the opposite neither, games could be running at 720p on the handheld and 1080p on the TV and we wouldn't know it.

The size of the dock and seemingly equal footage on TV and Tablet suggest it.

But the fact that you can apparently detatch the tablet from the dock during gameplay and seamlessly continue is the most convincing.

Though that's not to say it won't run at 1080p in docked mode regardless of if the dock has any power at all.

What I am wondering is, is the docking station the only way to charge it? Like if we want to charge it and play it on the handheld, is there a cord for that?

Well, I am quite impressed to say the least. Being able to take your game on the go sounds excellent. If this thing can use the traditional controller and has good power/can be plugged into the wall, this is going to be awesome! And it looks like you can play MP via the consoles communicating with each other, so yeah, even better.

So yeah, I am sold. Also, I forgive Ninten for making it such a short video, as they got their point across so well. No BS, just the console and how it functions. That new Mario looks cool, and could that be Spla2n? The inklings had different hair styles.

Looks cool. But I am not convinced. This is what Wii U supposed to be.

It looks like they are at the same level it just looks above since the parts are rounded themselves so when it is in portable mode.
