Forums - Gaming - Undertale tops 2 million owners on Steam

Just 1 year and 1 month after the release of Undertale, the game created by Toby Fox reached 2 million Owners on Steam, according to Steamspy. Undertale spawned a community of dedicated (and somewhat faithful) fans.

According to the Steam page, Undertale is an RPG where you control a human who falls underground into the world of monsters. You can either kill everyone, or become friends with them (Even the bosses), giving you multiple ways to play.

The game uses simple graphics and is heavily story-based. The battle system is a mix of traditional RPG and bullet hell with some surprises along the way.

Undertale was released in September 15, 2015 to a Universal Acclaim reception. It holds a 92 on Metacritic based on 42 reviews.

Console holders must be anxious to get their hands on a port of this.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I think a console version would be released at this point.

But come on, this game was made with Game Maker, it runs in any low-end PC. And it has full joystick support.

Huh, it feels like the fanbase is 3x bigger than that.

Hell yeah, I don't say this often, but Undertale really was an excellent game that deserves all the success that it got. One of the great masterpieces of this gen.

Those sales are well deserved.

It also shows that kickstarter isnt all bad.

He got 51,000 $ in funding, and went about makeing a game.

Its because of that (gamemaker has issues itself) and the developer not having the resources or knowledge to be able to port the game over to consoles.

Actually it seems GameMaker supports consoles, so it should be easy enough to port the game. That said, it's been a while since the PC version was released, so I too would expect a console version to have been released already if one was coming.
