Forums - Gaming - Best "slim" home console re-release to date?

Wii mini is pretty worthless.. Smaller sure, but less features than the original?

I would say PS3, but after the original, they don't have backwards compatibility :/

Not sure why this is a debate. Its seems to me the X1 S is a clear winner.

Its not only a smaller version of the X1, but its an upgrade. It has a CPU upgrade that actually helps performance and UHD Bluray support.

The ps3 slim. It isnt really that slim, it just looks the best.

PS3 and PS4, the slim versions reduce power consumption and noise, as well as being smaller (obv) and have an elegant design that looks good in the living.

When a slim version of a console is about as wide as the media it uses, then you have succeded indeed so it is the Genesis 3 for me. Or the 360S because it looks really nice.

PS2 Slim 9000 series for the fact that they reduced the size of the machine so dramatically AND also incorporated an internal power supply(where the PS2 Slim 7000 needed an external power supply). They also added a built in ethernet port which the original phat PS2 did not have. All that was omitted from the original PS2 was the firewire port which was seldom used anyway.

The PS2 slim 9000x did come with an internal supply but also came out close to 8 years (7 years, 8 months, 19 days) after the original PS2.  More time elapsed between the release of the PS2 slim 7000x to PS2 slim 9000x than the time between the PS3 fat release to PS3 slim release.

I think Final Fantasy XI also cannot be played on PS2 slim models because they removed the HDD dock on PS2 slims.

The size of both the PSone and PS2 Slim blew my mind when they came out.

The single most iconic is the Genesis II for the simple fact that many people don't even know what a Model I looks like. While we're on the subject of the Genesis, the Sega CDx was also pretty amazing: I'd kill for one of those.

Xbox One S is also up there for its inclusion of a 4K BD Drive.

Ps2 slim. No one has matched that size reduction and overall slimness along with keeping everything

The console lost the HDD. That is why is so slimmer.
