I feel like it could last a good while. Apparently you can build your own levels with the coins you earn/buy so the amount of levels can keep people coming back.

And knowing that people can play this without having to do any sort of physical activity will keep them playing (sad, but true).



Nintendo has those money eyes right now. Even if half of them end up purchasing the full game, it'll still be a short term success. And it's only ios. Nintendo has so much ground to cover in mobile, and they have so much experience doing mobile "fit" games. I can't wait to see what else they come up with.



Doesn't mean all 20M will purchase the game though..

but still great numbers

Yeah. All you have to do is hit the Notify button where Purchase normally is and it adds you to the list to get notified when the app launches.

Also guys, iirc, Nintendo said the game would cost money explicitly to avoid a microtransaction heavy and dependent experience, so yeah, I don't foresee 20 million day one sales, but it will probably do decently because popular mobile apps have a high attach rate due to low cost and easy access. Considering Super Mario Run has been on the iOS Store homepage since the announcement at the Apple event in September, I'm not surprised people are expressing interest.



 

Here is my bet: 200 million donwloads, around 10 million payer players, around 100 million revenue if the game is 10 bucks, 50 million if it is 5 bucks.

This game probably costed less than 1 million, so, Nintendo will want to make more. Metroid mobile, Fzero mobile, Zelda mobile...
