Forums - Gaming - BattleField 1 is one of the worse performing tittles at 60fps on Consoles, runs at 620p in some cases! Awfull!

PS4 games weren't used to run at 720p, so I hope not.
If that's the case people might start saying it's because of the Pro and the PS4 is getting screwed.

I think 720p games on PS4 is inevitable because eventually developers will push graphics over resolution.

We cant always expect 1080p when developers want to make more visually impressive games, especially at 60 fps.

If they're 720p on ps4 the xb1 version is going to get messy.

They are not really trying 4K, they are marketing 4K! Probably some 2D platform games will run on rock solid 4K 60 fps!

Why are we marketing if we know it isn't at a stable level? Terrible business practices 101.

Because its what they do, they will always push the lie to a level that they think its safe so the public dont flip out. They are not saying all the games will run in 4K, they say words like "4K friendly" or "will suport 4K", but the truth is that only few games will run at 4K. The big AAA whit cuting edge graphics will run at 1080p at maximum. Today even a sli 1080 pc dont generally handle 4K and 60 FPS so imagine what a console can do...  Marketing console games is too easy, the majority of the consumers are kids..

Then 90% of playerbase is doing it wrong.

www.bf4stats.com

that's not 90%, and yes... doing it quite wrong

btw, the fps competition is much higher on pc than on consoles, there's a lot more offer out there than chosing between cod and bf

Keep living in your denial world.

So a really nice looking ps2/og Xbox game.

But it's still better than Infinite Warfare right? That's all what matters.

Is that such a surprise? I mean, look at it! This game isn't getting anywhere near 60fps on Xbox without aome major sacrifices.

Called it.
I did say before this generation started that over time, we might see sub HD resolutions as developers try to push out better and better graphics at the expense of resolution. (Consoles are a game of sacrifice after-all.)

Although, this resolution is only a brief occurrence to maintain a set framerate, it still backs up that point. :P

I also suggest for people to wait for Digital Foundry's analysis as well so we can see how it really compares to the Playstation 4.

Been enjoying the game.

Last time I checked my FLs across Xbox Live and PSN I had friends playing R6, Overwatch, Black Ops 3, Modern Warfare Remaster, Battlefield 4, Battlefield 1, Halo 5, Halo MCC, Gears of War UE, Gears of War 4 Destiny and Infinite Warfare BETA.

Alot to choose from.

gears of war is an fps now? interesting...

probably there are more people now playing counter strike 1.6 / source / go than in all of those games combined, not to mention than pretty much all of those games are on pc with arguably bigger communities (overwatch) you could add a shit ton of other fps games like Arma, Insurgency, Dayz, H1Z1, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress, Heroes & Generals, Op Flashpoint, Dirty Bomb, Doom, S.K.I.L.L, Verdun, Planetside, Killing Floor, Payday, Quake,.... that's just from the top of my head.

But anyway, the point was never a popularity contest, you mentioned how terribly BF1 is performing on the xb1, the fact is I already played the alpha and beta on my PC and it not only looks, but more importantly, plays incredibly.

So yeah, that's the right way to go on it (not to mention using mouse/kb as the gaming gods intended for fps games)

The truth is that if the same game sells on console and on pc, it will pretty much always have a much larger player base on console, including Overwatch.  I've have understood why Blizzard has focused so hard on Overwatch on PC when they have a much larger audience on console based on sales.

You seem to base this alone on burst sales rather than the long term as well as the end of a generation. Basing it on just EA server stats for games like battlefront that were received poorly on PC doesn't really make for a legit argument, same with CoD when it charges high and delivers low with their PC ports. If you make a crappy game or a bad port, expect it to sell like crap on PC, on consoles you don't get much of a choice and the pictures aren't painted anywhere as clearly as you'd find on Steam with user reviews and the store page displaying how well a game is doing via user reviews and counts of positive versus negative, console stores as far as things go do not have such a system that points out the negatives in such a fashion that it sticks out like a sore thumb of "avoid this game, it's a busted port job".

Where did you obtain exact platforms sales data for Overwatch btw?, as far as recent sales news goes, they sold 20m, they never stated the exact total numbers on each platform that got them that 20m.

Also what about the games he mentioned in his list, where are those bases on consoles?, because as far as I can see, a large majority of what he listed has more users on PC than on consoles, especially L4D 1-2, TF2, CSGO, Planetside 2, Dirty Bomb, Payday 2 etc.

You go with console userbases that give that nice big flashy burst, but you never stick around to see just how long and dedicated that userbase is after a number of years. If anything console userbases move on towards the next best thing and they do this over and over, while on PC you get them going back and forth between old and new games, old games that date back to mid to late 2000's.
