gears of war is an fps now? interesting...
probably there are more people now playing counter strike 1.6 / source / go than in all of those games combined, not to mention than pretty much all of those games are on pc with arguably bigger communities (overwatch) you could add a shit ton of other fps games like Arma, Insurgency, Dayz, H1Z1, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress, Heroes & Generals, Op Flashpoint, Dirty Bomb, Doom, S.K.I.L.L, Verdun, Planetside, Killing Floor, Payday, Quake,.... that's just from the top of my head.
But anyway, the point was never a popularity contest, you mentioned how terribly BF1 is performing on the xb1, the fact is I already played the alpha and beta on my PC and it not only looks, but more importantly, plays incredibly.
So yeah, that's the right way to go on it (not to mention using mouse/kb as the gaming gods intended for fps games)

The truth is that if the same game sells on console and on pc, it will pretty much always have a much larger player base on console, including Overwatch. I've have understood why Blizzard has focused so hard on Overwatch on PC when they have a much larger audience on console based on sales.

You seem to base this alone on burst sales rather than the long term as well as the end of a generation. Basing it on just EA server stats for games like battlefront that were received poorly on PC doesn't really make for a legit argument, same with CoD when it charges high and delivers low with their PC ports. If you make a crappy game or a bad port, expect it to sell like crap on PC, on consoles you don't get much of a choice and the pictures aren't painted anywhere as clearly as you'd find on Steam with user reviews and the store page displaying how well a game is doing via user reviews and counts of positive versus negative, console stores as far as things go do not have such a system that points out the negatives in such a fashion that it sticks out like a sore thumb of "avoid this game, it's a busted port job".
Where did you obtain exact platforms sales data for Overwatch btw?, as far as recent sales news goes, they sold 20m, they never stated the exact total numbers on each platform that got them that 20m.
Also what about the games he mentioned in his list, where are those bases on consoles?, because as far as I can see, a large majority of what he listed has more users on PC than on consoles, especially L4D 1-2, TF2, CSGO, Planetside 2, Dirty Bomb, Payday 2 etc.
You go with console userbases that give that nice big flashy burst, but you never stick around to see just how long and dedicated that userbase is after a number of years. If anything console userbases move on towards the next best thing and they do this over and over, while on PC you get them going back and forth between old and new games, old games that date back to mid to late 2000's.
