Personally I find this to be the more likely scenario, what ever this device ends up being if it's a hybrid something has to be gimped. My guess is this is mainly meant to be a replacement for the Wii U. And the "portable" part of it wasn't designed to replace the 3ds but to supplement it. My guess is the portable part of the console has the power of a $50 or less tablet. And it thing is to do streaming via a remote desktop function. Where it can interact with your cellphone, the 3rd or any other item with a driver installed to allow it. I'm at work so I will continue this post later.

That`s not true, they did it with Wii U for years. And actually, contrary to popular belief, they still haven`t announced that they now make a profit on each Wii U sold either.

How would they make that statement if there is no data about sold Wii Us?

Super Metal Dave just took a news that accommodate his believe that Nintendo need to compete on powerhouse. I always laugh when he try to explain faithfully his sources while neglecting other sources. He just want Nintendo to have power GPU like PS4 and Xbox One, he is very bias.

I cannot imagine toilet-free life.
