The problem with the sales, at least on the hardware side, is that it's really boring this generation. Sony has first place on lock, Microsoft will stay second and Nintendo can't be anything but third.

Last gen provided a much more interesting race: Xbox 360 with its one year lead, the Wii speeding past it while the PS3 struggled, then the PS3 made a comeback passing the 360 and then speculation begun around the possibility of PS3 passing the Wii. This meant that every stage of last gen was exciting to talk about.

Yeah, maybe we all should sabotage Sony or something, so that we get a bit more excitement around here! Hopefully both the NX and Scorpio vill shake things up. I remember there being a lull here towards the end of last gen as well, no? When everything kinda was set in stone.

Yeah, the race was exciting between PS3 and 360, and Nintendo was relevant then in their own way, right now, it's practically between 2 companies with 1 dominating it. Hopefully the mid gen cycles and NX make things interesting.

I signed up after the holiday sales of the Kinect. (was following the forum for years before signing up though)

January was always busy lol, with the adjustments.

I agree with the sentiment. Years ago it was exciting waiting for updated numbers, even from before I made an account. Like you said the religious and political topics on the front page don't help too much either.

Also, I guess since the console war is over already in both fronts, there's not much to talk about. Without mentioning the spam of NX rumours, which made gaming related sites annoying to visit for the past year, not just vgc

One of the things that made me stay when i found out about the site, were the writings of TheSource and the great sales of Wii! And it was fun to post here too.
Those were good days.

One day i realised i was no longer expecting charts anymore and during Wii U's first months it wasn't that fun hanging here anymore. So, i just left to find "happier" places to post on.

I eventually came back because it's still a cool message board and actually enjoyed talking to some users (you included, Danne! :D )
You'll see that it's just a phase. When NX gets revealed the interest will go back up and then we can praise Mario Sunshine remake together! :)

Yeah I use to think this site was the bomb but because of how kid friendly it is and how I'm not really excited with news that come here I'm meh with this site now.
